WW3 Update: Turkey Threatens To Block The Bosphorus, Transdniestra Wants To Join Russia Now Also

The chairman of the Supreme Council in the breakaway republic of Transdniestria, Mikhail Burla, has asked Russian State Duma Speaker Sergei Naryshkin to consider drafting a law that would permit Transdniestria’s possible accession to Russia, the Vedomosti newspaper reported on Tuesday.   

According to Burla, a total of 97.2 percent of voters made their choice in favor of joining Russia during a referendum in Transdniestria in 2006, Vedomosti said.

Meanwhile, according to diplomatic sources, Turkey has threatened Russia with a blockade of the Bosphorus Strait

The threat to close the Bosphorus to Russia comes from a report by Hvylya, citing a Turkish diplomatic source. According to the source, Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan yesterday spoke with Russian President Vladimir Putin on the phone and warned of the consequences for conflict with Ukraine. The Hvylya source was also reported on by UNIAN.

Concerns were also raised about the possible threat to ethnic Crimean Tatars in the region, citing recent murders and communications with Tatar leadership. Erdogan’s call to Putin warned that if Russia invades Ukraine, and so-called ‘Crimean self-defense’ forces engage in violence against the Tatar minority, Turkey will be forced to close passage into the Black Sea to Russian ships

Turkey and Russia have a long history of warfare against one another, especially in the early 20th century.  This is definately hieghtening tensions.  The Russians have a squadron out in the Mediterranean Sea which I believe incudes their strongest ship the ‘Moskva’ and Aircraft Carrier ‘Admiral Kusnetsov’.  This is how World Wars start.  It is almost a guarentee that violence will occur which will start an out of control domino effect.

As for the Transdniestrians wanting now to join Russia, it would be huge.   Stay tuned..
