ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Thursday April 10, 2014
Following an investigation that has lasted for more than a year now, The U.S. Justice Department has finally released its report into the Albuquerque Police Department (APD)
After conducting hundreds of interviews and reviewing thousands of various materials, The Justice Department announced its findings “that the Albuquerque Police Department (APD) has engaged in a pattern or practice of excessive force that violates the Constitution and federal law.”

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE | Thursday, April 10, 2014
The investigation began on Nov. 27, 2012 in response to allegations of civil rights violations and the use of excessive force by the APD - which has been under public scrutiny and facing harsh criticism for no less than 37 instances of shootings of citizens by officers since 2010.
Just recently, the fatal shooting of a 38-year old homeless man (James Boyd) made National Headlines after video footage from an officer’s lapel-camera was inexplicably released on the internet and quickly went viral.

As seen on the video, Boyd was not a threat when he was shot and killed on Mar. 16, 2014, and public outrage over the incident has led to at least two major protests and managed to catch the attention of the enigmatic hacker group Anonymous who consequently unleashed a successful DdOS attack on APD’s main website just 2 weeks after the shooting.
As for the protests, nobody was seriously injured – although there were two separate incidences when Police Officers in riot gear resorted to the use of tear gas.
And no actual computers were “harmed” during the so called “cyber-attack.”
