Power, Knowledge, and Freedom

We become accomplices in our own enslavement the moment we accept the idea that our mere existence and thirst for some type of fair shot at success warrant a lifetime of culturally-instilled guilt, shame, and fear. No one can ever do any worse harm to us than ourselves and those who’ve ever had a steady grip on the reigns of an established system have known this far too well.

Power is a concept that requires the participation of at least two parties (those who possess it and those who acknowledge their possession of power) to be believed and have any validity, for even with a full army behind them, a tyrant cannot take what has never been and never will be theirs without consent — the individual freedom each individual is born with and entitled to. Because of this, the despot will typically:

• Cut the wings of those who seek to know what those in power know but conceal out of selfish zeal and dread.

• Entangle and incarcerate minds by implanting countless fears and constructing elaborate catastrophic narratives built around disastrous scenarios and antagonistic bogeymen.
