A 40-foot sinkhole has opened up on the football field at Austin Peay State University.

It all started a couple of weeks ago when a small sinkhole first appeared. Officials say it was about the size of a desk. Crews started work to stop the hole from growing and it wouldn’t.

Monday, the sinkhole was estimated to be 30 by 50 feet wide — and 40 feet deep!

Sinkholes, sinkholes, everywhere! You haven’t heard much about them as of late. It stopped being a popular conspiracy topic but it hasn’t stopped them from happening still. Good thing it’s not football or track season.
