Sal9000 marries Nene Anegasaki - Love Plus - digital marriage

This is the legal climax of the touching story of a young Japanese man “SAL9000″ who, dressed in a lovely white suit, married a young filly by the name of Nene Anegasaki, star of the Nintendo DS game Love Plus from Konami.

It sounds like a fantastic marketing ploy on the part of Konami, but it’s TRUE. A human being did just marry a digital avatar, and he even takes her out for ‘walkies’ … yeah, like you would a pet dog. Watch in awe.

Big question is, “Why hasn’t Nintendo released Love Plus (subtitled) in the UK?” The size of the mail-order wife business in this country, I’m sure there’d be no shortage of willing hubbies for these digital wives. You could even CHARGE for a marriage license(!) Nintendo has clearly missed a great money-making opportunity here.
