The driver in the video wisely decided to tape this confrontation and caught comedy gold, when the police officer tries to lie about why he pulled the driver over, until he realizes he’s on Candid Camera and changes his tune and allows the driver to leave. The driver busts the cop out for his bad driving and excessive speeding!
Everyone must remember to keep some kind of camera on hand, whether on your phone or a little cheapy job that has good audio. Illinois State Police says he is above the law. Not this time, Officer!

Actually, this Officer seems like a good guy and admits he might’ve jumped the gun. I agree, he seems like a decent cop. The driver was belligerent from the get-go. State your case, but at least get off on the right foot unless the po is being a douche from the start.
Cop bashing is popular now — much well deserved. But one episode of COPS and one soon understands the BS these men & women put up with on a daily basis from the lowest society has to offer. They’re human.
Yes, I couldn’t get over his politeness. Of course, I realize it may have been because he was being recorded. but honestly, why can’t they all be this polite WITHOUT being recorded? We need good cops. Yes, we do need them. It’s not like we can do without policemen. But the police have gotten downright nasty and overbearing in the last few years. We need to straighten them out and make them look at a few videos of what cope USED to be like… not thugs and criminals as they are today, with no regard for anyone. I say when we meet a GOOD cop, we should let him/her know that we appreciate the politeness. Just say it, “I appreciate your kindness.” It won’t hurt you. And maybe they will tell their fellow officers. That should encourage them ALL to be polite to citizens.
We need to do it to everyone from whatever walk of life, if we all smiled and made a couple of seconds for people, I think it would catch on, it’s worth a try and if it doesn’t work, at least you’ll still be smiling.

The fact that he pulled the driver over in the first place on his trumped up charges is proof enough for me that he is not, has never been or will be a good cop. But I can bet he’ll be looking for cameras a lot more carefully the next time he tries to extort money from someone. And that really is what it is all about. Just two things actually. Legalized extortion and a reminder to remain within compliance with the officer’s self perceived authority.

This is the way to do it, folks. Take up for yourself and OBEY THE LAW at all times. But make THEM obey the law as well. That way, we can all get along.
If it was me I would of flung a dozen doughnuts at the cop and sped away. (Safest thing to do). Then I would look in the rear view mirror and watch that cop go crazy trying to grab each doughnut before a car ran over it.

He was decent when he realised his cheese was out in the wind but he started out the same as every other American cop I’ve seen does, in attack mode. Nice one drive, made him suck your salty chocolate balls.

And later that night at the truckstop a few miles down the road witnesses claimed that three gentlemen in what appeared to be an unmarked police car caught up with the truck driver. The last report is that he is still in intensive care but the doctors are optimistic that they will be able to remove the breathing tube sometime early next week.
Well, at least the cop was man enough to admit he was wrong and fess up… these are the types of cops we need, those who are still capable of knowing right from wrong.
The actual point is, if your a trucker (and I am) don’t go out pickin no fights with the troopers, and this guy did and his cam saved his butt. I see lots of cops on phones and using laptops while driving, but I don’t call them out on it, thats just puttin a target on your back.

Honestly, I was expecting the video to be worse than it was. Most of the videos have the cops being way bigger a-holes AND they continue even when they do know. Maybe he changed his tune because the driver was recording, maybe not. But let’s give him kudos for at least handling, or pretending to handle the situation like a decent, respectful human being that knew he was in the wrong. How rare is that these days?
