Illegals with contagious diseases put Americans at risk

Invaders bringing serious illnesses across southern border

ABC Channel 15 in Phoenix reports on yet another major border concern as the Obama administration  allows the unconscionable dumping of contagious-disease carrying, illegal aliens all across the country.

This time the focus is not solely on the women, and often unaccompanied children, who are streaming across the border into Arizona unabated.  Agents are now expressing strong concerns about a serious viral outbreak.

“It’s contagious, we are transporting people to different parts of the state and different parts of the country,” said Border Patrol agent and Rio Grande Valley Union representative Chris Cabrera.

“We are sending people everywhere. The average person doesn’t know what’s going on down here,” Cabrera said. “Detention centers and holding facilities have quarantined areas for those who come in sick.” But Cabrera adds, the sick and healthy are separated only by a thin strip of yellow caution tape.

There have been warnings about serious outbreaks of drug resistant,  highly contagious and sometimes fatal cases of tuberculosis, as Phyllis Schlafly reports in this important article.

The problem of insidious infectious diseases is not new. As far back as 2005, Schlafly wrote, “Legal immigrants are required to be free from disease, but no one examines the thousands of illegals who enter our country every day and disappear into our population. They are bringing diseases that we never had before in the United States or which we eradicated decades ago.

Tuberculosis had virtually disappeared from the United States, but is now expanding rapidly, particularly a drug-resistant variety until recently endemic only to Mexico.

Chagas, for which there is no effective cure, infects 18 million people in Latin America, causing 500,000 deaths annually, was unknown in the United States until recently, and has now infected our blood supply. Suddenly, thousands of cases of leprosy have appeared brought in by illegal aliens from India, Brazil, the Caribbean, and Mexico. West Nile Virus, which comes from Africa, was unheard of in the U.S. prior to 1998 and now infects tens of thousands of Americans. Malaria had been obliterated from the U.S., but is now reemerging. Since 1991, the U.S. hasn’t had a case of a native-born American getting polio, but aliens are bringing back polio, too.”

Yet nothing appears to deter Congress, including our AZ 4 —- in concert with the illegal enablers McCain and Flake —- all standing poised to grant stealth amnesty. Have they heard from you yet? Time is short.
