Awesome!!!!
I’m in, fanbloodytastic. I hope making them doesn’t create a massive carbon imprint like those silly cars the Prius.
Footprint* , I shouldn’t drink rum and orange in the daylight hours.
yes but Once they have grabbed the energy they need to store it.
Electric cars will move people, but what about bigger vehicles and aircraft.
I believe if we use this technology and tie it to GreenNH3 for use it could work.
These GreenNH3 guys have a machine to create fuel using electricity.
But these inventors are not good at getting funds gathered.
If someone knows a way contact GreenNH3 also.
Not a bad idea . But will it really work ?
Only if you can make it strong enough to hold the pressure from the 50 ton trucks and tanks.
Run the damn numbers. They keep saying: it’s solar, it pays for itself. Bravo sierra. Simple solar farms and those arrays all over buildings don’t pay for themselves, and they’re not burning off a significant portion of their energy with all those LEDs and heaters.
What’s the cost of a hex? What’s its output, and I mean the average output, not peak. How often do you think they’ll need to be replaced/repaired/refurbished? The silicon panels do well to scrape out 25% efficiency when new, and degrade over time. Many panels will rarely if ever have direct sunlight, and outside tropical zones will never have peak direct sunlight. ANYTHING between the panel and the sunlight will further degrade the energy transfer.
It might create a huge number of jobs, but the physical plant will be hugely, hideously, leftist-wet-dream expensive, and probably lose money for well over 100 years. The only way it could get a serious start is through a .gov mandate with insane amounts of tax money wasted before it’s abandoned and auctioned for pennies on the dollar.
Sounds like these two are angling for some ☭bama money ala Solyndra et al, while there’s still a few hundred million to be stolen. There’s a reason they’re not getting interest from real venture capital.
If one of the hexagons is damaged, then you have a pothole made of broken glass. How will that work with rubber tires? Also the process for replacing a broken panel was kind of glazed over. If you have a major roadway with multiple problems and the panels are on back order, what then?
Is it bullet proof for the inner cities and back woods rednecks? Chemical spill resistant? Snow huh I doubt it could keep up with a good snowfall or ice storm then a plow would come along and rip them up. Also I don’t think that would be very good for the long haul for bicyclist and motorcycle riders. And wait till a hacker gets a hold of it and all of a sudden Frogger is being plaid on a major highway. LOL Nope just can’t see it.
A very good concept: I trust you’ve got a good R&D team thinking outside the box in terms of stress testing.
I think I’ll look into them more, a prospectus would be interesting.
Now if you could catch the friction energy from passing vehicles as well as sun lumens, hmmm. how about small turnstile generators on each tile. Car passes, turns tuenstyle, generates a small about of electriicity sent to capacitors, eneough to power LEDs at peak need without taking from solar, gives energy savings to operate, saved electricity passed to grid.
Water run of, snowmelt…have you considered flow dynamics and designed a viable collection system that insures isolation from runoff of valerable electronics……and what about banked turns?
Hey, it is a great idea……
Steadfast.
Stēkō
Lexan not glass BTW, nearly indestructible
If they make them flash at 50/60hz like the current electric grid i think i would lose my mind
YOWZA! Bring it on!!!
