Neymar’s Agent Posts Sarcastic Rant About Brazil Coach Scolari
The agent who represents star Brazilian striker Neymar took to social media to blast the manager of Brazil’s national squad, Luiz Felipe Scolari, calling him an “arrogant and ridiculous old fool.”
Wagner Ribeiro sarcastically posted on Twitter what he said were the “six requirements for being the coach” of the Brazilian national side, which was routed by Germany 7-1 on Tuesday in the 2014 World Cup semifinals.

His list is a rundown of the 65-year-old Scolari’s recent coaching career, every aspect of which he interprets in a negative light.
Ribeiro says it is necessary to “coach the Portuguese team and not win anything”; “go to Chelsea and be fired”; “go to coach in Uzbekistan” and “return to Brazil, take a great team and relegate it to the second division,” referring to Sao Paulo club Palmeiras.
A fifth requirement, according to Neymar’s agent, is to “ask to leave 56 days before the end of the (Brazilian soccer league) season to ‘escape’ relegation.”
Scolari stepped down as Palmeiras’ coach in 2012 when the team, one of Brazil’s most successful clubs, was second to last in the league.
Palmeiras later was relegated to second division but has since returned to Serie A.
Finally, Ribeiro says that Scolari, who coached Brazil to its fifth and most recent World Cup title in 2002, fulfills the requirement of being an “arrogant and ridiculous old fool.”
Neymar was unable to play in the semifinal after fracturing a vertebra in his spine in last Friday’s quarterfinal match against Colombia.
Brazil also was missing its captain and star defender, Thiago Silva, who was suspended after picking up his second yellow card of the tournament in the quarterfinals.
