Ferguson: Michael Brown Shocking Autopsy Released
The preliminary autopsy of the youth fatally shot by police officer Darren Wilson has been released to the public, showing that young Michael Brown was shot “at least six times” including twice in the head.
“People have been asking: How many times was he shot? This information could have been released on Day 1,” Dr. Michael M. Baden said in an interview after performing the autopsy. “They don’t do that, even as feelings built up among the citizenry that there was a cover-up. We are hoping to alleviate that.”
Dr. Baden, 80, is a well-known New York-based medical examiner, one of only about 400 board-certified forensic pathologists in the nation. He reviewed the autopsies of President John F. Kennedy and Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.. He has performed over 20,000 autopsies.
One bullet entered the top of Brown’s skull, suggesting his head was bent forward when it struck him and caused a fatal injury, according to Dr. Baden, former chief medical examiner for the City of New York, who flew to Missouri on Sunday at the family’s request to conduct the separate autopsy.
According to Dr. Baden, it was likely the last of bullets to hit him that killed him.
One shot struck Michael Brown in his palm, bolstering witness claims that he had his hands raised in the air to show he wasn’t resisting or attacking the officer.
Rasing hands in the air and yelling, “Don’t shoot! Don’t shoot,” has become a demonstration of solidarity with Michael Brown’s family and town.
Michael Brown, 18, was also shot three times in the right arm, he said, adding that all the bullets were fired into his front.
The doctor explained that some of the bullets entered and exited several times, including one that left at least five different wounds.
The police did not allow Dr. Baden to have access to Brown’s clothing. Without those, Baden could only make a preliminary report regarding the distance at which the shooting had occurred. He said it appeared as though the shots were not fired at short range. That part of the report could change if and when he is allowed access to the clothing and finds gun powder residue.
He has not seen the X-rays showing where bullets were found, that would clarify the autopsy results. He has not had access to witness and police statements.
“The preliminary autopsy results are the first time that some of the critical information resulting in Mr. Brown’s death has been made public. Thousands of protesters demanding information and justice for what was widely viewed as a reckless shooting took to the streets here in rallies that ranged from peaceful to violent.” (NY Times)
The protests did not begin, however, until last Sunday after police tried to blame Brown, 18 and unarmed, for his own death.
“We need more information. For example, the police should be examining the automobile to see if there is gunshot residue in the police car,” Dr. Baden said.

I am so sorry… Reminds me: In the Pacific south seas’ Vanuatu (once called the New Hebrides) where I lived 3 years, when a tragedy occurred near or far, the islanders gathered at one end of the town and quietly marched in a procession through town. They call it a “Sorry March.” It had as much of an impact as the yelling and police retaliation – but nobody was injured. And they were considered in a “least developed nation” living the life of primitive people. Gosh we developed cultures have a lot to learn from indigenous peoples.

Sorry but evidence now appears to show that officer Wilson’s statement that he was bum-rushed by Brown after the initial altercation over his weapon, along with the eye-witness statements in the video shot at the time of the shooting, which essentially corroborate his claim makes your comments appear to be in error. Your own autopsy report above shows no shots in the back as claimed by those defending this criminal hoodlum, only shots to his front meaning he was “facing” the officer. This along with the officer’s statement and the witness’s voice on the video agrees with the autopsy YOU posted……..
so how does this make the officer look bad?
Brown was a thug and a thief and the officer in this case simply did his job, had Brown and his fellow thugs followed the officer’s order to get out of the street there would have been no further need for action by officer Wilson, but Brown decided he was going to treat the cop as he did the store clerk he robbed and got himself shot for it. Good shoot in my book, in fact they should be burying the looters along with him IMHO.

I see no evidence for your allegation, and eyewitness evidence that Brown ran from the cops, who shot at him and apparently missed. Eyewitnesses say he then turned to face the police and raised his hands but they shot him, from a distance. The last shot, through the top of his head, appears to have been after he was down. There’s no evidence he was dangerous or charged the police. He was a kid without a record, about to go to college, not a vicious thug who would attack an armed policeman. Come off it.
Killing the suspect is not proper police procedure for a simple shoplifting. Glad you’re not a cop.

Felony assault on a police officer will generally get ya shot every time and this yahoo didn’t shoplift, he stole and then assaulted the store clerk.
Shoplifting is attempt to steal on the sly, without getting caught, that ain’t what he did in the video no matter how much you twist the facts to fit your warped sense of justice – which apparently does not involve researching to find the truth but simply repeating what others have parroted to fit their own racist agenda.

they tend to lie when they put out reports anyway, it doesn’t help the credibility of the report that the autopsy also did j.f.k. and m.l.k. the odds are he did in fact shoot the kid in the back 10+ times, and by putting out a bogus story that they didn’t; people are likely to look at the other likely bogus/definently irrelevant story that the kid was a thug and buy into it. the cop was in fact just doing his job, but that job is being a jackbooted terrorist, they are just being more transparent about it now. (that’s what Obama meant when he said “total transparency”).
