Military Source: Troops On The Ground In Syria 'Absolutely Crucial' To Defeat ISIS

As the threat of nuclear war hangs over the world as a result of NATO meddling in Ukraine, Russia has once again warned Washington against military aggression. This time, however, the warning comes in the context of the Syrian crisis where the United States and NATO are considering “targeted airstrikes” against what it claims would be ISIS fighters but what would actually be, almost assuredly, the forces of the secular Syrian government.

While the desire to strike Syria has publicly manifested itself on a number of occasions, Obama stated in his speech on September 10 that he reserves the right to direct airstrikes against Syria if he deems it necessary.

Although Obama also stated that the United States would not be committing ground troops, it should be remembered that Obama made the same claims about his policy in Iraq, a country that has seen 1,200 American troops re-deployed on its soil.

Thus, it comes as no surprise when rumblings of troop deployments to Syria begin to trickle out in the mainstream media, even in the form of comments from anonymous sources in the U.S. military.

For instance, a senior Air Force Commander recently told USA TODAY that U.S. boots will indeed be needed on the ground inside Syria to combat the Western-backed death squads. The commander stated that it is “absolutely crucial that pilots are talking to an American on the ground” who can provide on the ground assistance with identification of the targets.

This statement comes after a Washington Post report suggesting that Obama and the White House vetoed a plan by top military commanders to send a “modest contingent of American troops principally Special Operations forces, to advise and assist Iraqi army units in fighting the militants, according to two U.S. military officials.” Thus, one may be forced to wonder whether or not the statement made to USA TODAY by the anonymous military source is foreshadowing or whether it is actually a reaction to Obama’s reluctance to commit even more military troops to Iraq and/or Syria. Obama’s alleged reluctance, of course, should not be taken as any real moral convictions but out of concern for his own narcissistic self-image.

Regardless, the commander’s statement comes shortly after the release of a CIA report claiming that ISIS is able to produce anywhere from 20,000 to 30,000 fighters, a fact that has been known by many researchers in for well over a year. Of course, the CIA should know very well how many fighters belong to ISIS, since the CIA itself is one of the main organizers, trainers, and directors of the death squad operatives to begin with.

In addition, Western media outlets are reporting that the United States military no longer sees Syria’s air defense capabilities as a significant threat to a bombing campaign since the death squads were able to remove those defenses nearly a week ago. This sudden military maneuver by IS goes some length in exposing the true nature of the terrorist organization and the levels to which it is nothing more than a proxy army for Western powers.

Still, Syria has condemned any plan to engage in military airstrikes on its soil as a blatant act of aggression. The Syrian National Reconciliation Minister, Ali Haidar, stated that “Any action of any kind without the consent of the Syrian government would be an attack on Syria.”

Haidar’s statements were echoed by both Tehran and Moscow. Russia stated shortly after the plan was announced that “The US president has spoken directly about the possibility of strikes by the US armed forces against Isil positions in Syria without the consent of the legitimate government. This step, in the absence of a UN security council decision, would be an act of aggression, a gross violation of international law.”

Although more of a tepid response, China has also stated that, while the world should fight terror, national sovereignty should be respected.

Regardless of whether or not boots on the ground will be deployed in Syria, the fact is the presence of ISIS is nothing more than a large-scale false flag of terror designed to justify an American invasion of a secular and sovereign nation.

Thus, the response from the American people should not only be a rejection of boots on the ground but a rejection of any American involvement in Syrian affairs.

ISIS can be defeated as soon as the West stops supporting it.
