Janet Napolitano was the most radically liberal governor to lead the state of Arizona in memory. Now a devoted crony of hers is running for the same office and using identical tactics. Napolitano regarded her liberal counterpart so highly, she appointed Fred DuVal to the Arizona Board of Regents where he made a name for himself astronomically raising state university student tuitions and fees, voting for increases that doubled the price of attendance at the three state universities during his 6-year tenure.
Napolitano left Arizona midterm to work for Barack Obama and DuVal worked in Bill Clinton’s administration. But they have even more in common, as both flaunt the endorsement of turncoat Republicrats, with the contemptible egotist Grant Woods, a onetime John McCain congressional Chief of Staff, leading the pack.
