The Communicable Disease Control Order issued by the State of Texas’ Department of State Health Services offers insight into the procedures followed by health officials when dealing with a potential outbreak of a deadly disease like Ebola.

In the case of the notice obtained by The West Wire, the Texas Department of State Health Services seems to have prepared them for cases pertaining specifically to the Ebola virus.

“Blood and/or any other samples or measures must be provided to Health officials”

After citing the local Texas health code, §81.083, the issuance goes on to describe actions to be taken to the party whom the notice was given which include:

• Remain at a specified location without leaving 
• Leave only after approval of the Texas Department of State Health Services of Dallas County Health and Human Services
• Recipients of such orders aren’t allowed to have visitors unless permitted by the Texas Department of State Health Services of Dallas County Health and Human Services
• Instructions for monitoring health conditions are given with contact information for Texas health officials
