37 Million Bees Found Dead In Ontario After Planting Large GMO Corn Field (Video)
Millions of bees dropped dead after GMO corn was planted few weeks ago in Ontario, Canada. The local bee keeper, Dave Schuit who produces honey in Elmwood lost about 37 million bees which are about 600 hives.
“Once the corn started to get planted our bees died by the millions,” Schuit said. While many bee keepers blame neonicotinoids, or “neonics.” for colony collapse of bees and many countries in EU have banned neonicotinoid class of pesticides, the US Department of Agriculture fails to ban insecticides known as neonicotinoids, manufactured by Bayer CropScience Inc.

The corn itself doesn’t effect any bees or insects until it starts to mature and tassle. This is were the pollen is at the top of the stalk. These bees most likely were killed by a pesticide sprayed on the corn.
Don’t get me wrong though, I’m not defending GMO at all, it is some bad stuff.

Year old news though still relevant, however, more relevant is what Einstein said ‘when the bees are all gone humans have 4yrs left’.
GMO live corn is not the problem in this case, nor are pesticides per se. Sugar fed to bees overwinter, whether or not it is produced using GMO crops, is definitely a problem. Steal all the food they have gathered and then feed them crap? Their immune systems are shot as are most of ours.
Wake up call anyone?
I myself am waiting for the follow up to this story. Are the people of this community going to rise up in outrage against this abomination, and demand the GMO crops be removed and then banned? Will they demand retritbution, and that damage done will be corrected? Will the rest of us move to defeat the politics that allow this to continue?
GMO’s just won a labeling battle in Colorado politics. Strange since only 97% of the population of Colorado supported labeling prior to the election. Since Nov 4th, I haven’t heard or seen any news coverage about how strange it was that GMO’s somehow defeated the lableing law. I’m a fairly social person, know lots of people, travel around the state. EVERYONE I come into contact with seems to feel very strongly about the right to know what is in your food. No one bought the tactic that having to reveal weather GMO’s are in your food would increase the cost of groceries, blah, blah, blah. We were all prepared, and determined to beat it. Somehow, it looks like this was another dirty election, but just another day in America.

Is that what you call a debunk, Spacebook? There were 600 hives lost and i’m taking a wild guess that the average number of bees per hive is around 1/600th of 37 million.
