Darren Wilson Honeymoons On Paid Leave, Resigning

As the world awaits a grand jury in Ferguson to announce its decision to not indict police officer Darren Wilson for shooting to death 18-year-old Michael Brown, according to attorneys on the front lines, the officer is negotiating terms to resign after his honeymoon on paid leave.

Wilson’s close acquaintances told the New York Times that he plans to resign from the Ferguson Police Department ahead of the jury’s announcement, expected to ignite another series of protests in the St. Louis suburb, in turmoil since the officer’s August 9 shooting of Brown.

Meanwhile, unlike the late Michael Brown, Wilson has been spared having his photos repeatedly plastered over media outlets and it has been revealed that he applied for a marriage certificate last month.

Wilson, 28, wed Barbara Spradling, 36, in Overland.

Attorney and municipal Judge Christopher Graville performed the ceremony, according to the marriage license that somehow “went unnoticed,” news sources report

Wilson’s attorneys have been in talks with Ferguson officials for two months about terms of the resignation. He’s been on paid leave since the killing.

While most media outlets claim the grand jury is still deciding whether to indict Wilson for shooting the unarmed teenager, others say the decision has been made to not indict Wilson but the announcement has not been made, giving more time for actions to protect Wilson and ensure the government has all in place for martial law activities.

Authorities claim Brown was behaving aggressively toward Wilson and that the shooting was justified.

Brown’s family and witnesses say Brown was retreating with his hands up when shot multiple times until dead.

The killing set off months of militarized police and provacateurs violence against protesters in the majority-black town served by a white police force.

Wilson has been on paid administrative leave since killing Brown.
