Christmas Viral Video Melts over 23M Hearts
A California resident did something this Christmas season that so far has caused approximately 7 million hearts to melt.
YouTube prankster Josh Paler Lin made yet another viral video, How Does a Homeless Man Spend $100? He says it was undercover experiment in attempt to find out what happens after a homeless person is given money.
“Today I’m gonna give a homeless guy $100,” Lin tells viewers. “I’m gonna follow him, and see how he spent it.”
“No, really. Are you sure? I’m starting to tear up over here, that’s like incredible,” says the man named Thomas before giving Lin a hug. Lin spotted him at an intersection holding a sign. Later, Thomas walks away with his bag and hits up a liquor store not aware that Lin is secretly following him.
Soon, Thomas leaves the liquor store with filled bags. Lin was surprised watching what the homeless man did after waling to a local park local park.
Here’s the rest of the story below in the video.
Thomas distributed pies and chips to families saying, “Happy holidays, you guys.”
“I was going to catch him drinking beer and… say, ‘Bro, why’d you buy beer? I thought you needed food,’” Lin told KTLA. “My heart just melted.”
Since published on Dec. 22, Monday, How Does a Homeless Man Spend $100? has been viewed more than 23 million times. The video includes a link to an Indiegogo fundraising page aiming to “Help Thomas Get a Fresh Start!”
At the time of this writing, Thomas has been showered with over $100,000.

Isn’t that false advertising of some sort? Pretty sure that’s extremely illegal…but I also think indiegogo payments supercede this rule in that they are donations, not purchasing something. Although the guy totally scammed a ton of people. I would watch his back if I were him. Just sayin.
Sick of seeing this GD video. Nothing but trying to get views is what this youtuber did.
Kind of obvious to me he achieved more than views. He helped change one man’s life, who in turn, changed others’ lives for the better. Mr Weather, I’d be happy to run a story about you if you do anything similar, OK? I’ll be waiting, Mr. Weather – or is it really Mr. Scrooge?
No one needs to run a story about me I’m already known and famous for what I do. However this is all too familiar where these “prank YouTubers” try to ‘prank’ homeless people thinking they’ll do something worth seeing (bad) and then come out with something like that. The plan from this ‘YouTuber’ (aka idiot) all along was so the guy could buy beer and have it caught on tape, not what happened.
His initial motive was BAD and deceptive. This isn’t a story, this is an advertisement …
Another fake story from another fake contributor.
Strange how they’re always “women” with “attractive” profile pics? Turn that 180 degrees and you’ll find who these “contributors” really are.
Usually some obese male who’s an employee of Alex Jones. That must be one busy office.
I am so sick of “reality TV”. Even the so called reality shows are scripted and fake. This has been revealed over and over. My guess is this was all set up….the guy is probably a friend of the guy filming it, and not homeless. Smart people can see right through this.
