Family Sues Cops For Over $8 Million (Warning--graphic video)

Were the cops at fault? Should the man have “dropped” the knife? Should the cops have used nonlethal weapons?

The video above is taken from a dashboard camera on a Springettsbury police car from the night of the shooting.

Guns drawn, standing outside the Springettsbury Township Kmart that night, officers screamed at Todd Shultz, begging him to “drop it” nearly 40 times.

On a grainy dashboard camera video, several shots crackle. Then one more “drop it,” and 11 more shots leave Shultz, 40, dead.

An agitated officer screams “Why didn’t you drop it?”

Those last 11 shots, according to attorney Devon Jacob, violated Shultz’s civil rights.

In an $8 million civil suit filed Thursday, Jacob said the crux of the argument against police, the district attorney, the township and county, is that Shultz had turned his back before those shots were fired.

He then laid there, bleeding for roughly five minutes before an ambulance arrived or any aid was rendered. MOREHERE
