Merry Christmas, everyone!

We rejoice that our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ was born more than two thousand years ago. But, it wasn’t His birth that we really celebrate.

No, it was His sacrifice for us.

We do not deserve it, but I’m not complaining. I’m just grateful that a foolish sinner like myself was chosen to be a child of God.

I know that there is some controversy over this day, but I believe that any time that we glorify God… well …it is a good thing. So, even those of you who do not celebrate Christmas, at least join me in glorifying God.

Merry Christmas, Everyone

If you celebrate your birthday, but don’t celebrate the birthday of Jesus…

…I would have to ask whether there’s something wrong with you.

Of course, I know that Jesus wasn’t born in December. And, there’s a lot of evidence that indicates that He was born in the Fall, before it started to rain.

Rain In Jerusalem

Having been a long-time resident of Jerusalem, I know that the first rain usually comes in late October or early November. And, those rains are COLD.

And, they come in sideways!

For years, I didn’t even own an umbrella, because the wind and rain would eat an umbrella in minutes.

Let’s Celebrate!

But, let’s not worry about when Jesus was born. Let’s worry more about celebrating His birth and glorifying Him. If you DON’T celebrate His birth on Christmas…

…Do you celebrate His birth at any other time of the year?

Do you celebrate the birth of your parents/children/grandparents/grandchildren?

Do you see a problem here?

How We Did It Right

Well, our church celebrated the birth of Jesus in the best way possible, by glorifying God the Father and His Son. It was a wonderful celebration, and I invite all of you to come to Taipei next year and celebrate with us.

And, we all read:

John 1

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.

He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.

He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me. And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.

For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

No man hath seen God at any time, the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.

And this is the record of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, Who art thou? And he confessed, and denied not; but confessed, I am not the Christ. And they asked him, What then? Art thou Elias? And he saith, I am not. Art thou that prophet? And he answered, No.

Then said they unto him, Who art thou? that we may give an answer to them that sent us. What sayest thou of thyself? He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Esaias.

And they which were sent were of the Pharisees. And they asked him, and said unto him, Why baptizest thou then, if thou be not that Christ, nor Elias, neither that prophet?

John answered them, saying, I baptize with water: but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not; He it is, who coming after me is preferred before me, whose shoe’s latchet I am not worthy to unloose.

These things were done in Bethabara beyond Jordan, where John was baptizing.

The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

 – John 1:1-30

Behold, the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world!

How anyone can read all that and not know that Jesus is God… well …all that I can say is that you do not know God.

And, without knowing God, you cannot be saved.

JESUS IS GOD

Jesus is God, who came in the flesh to sacrifice Himself so that all who believe in Him would have everlasting life.

Paul said this to Timothy:

And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

– 1 Timothy 3:16

JESUS IS GOD!

To say otherwise is to condemn yourself to an eternity of punishment, so let me take this moment to beg you to accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior.

The time of salvation is now…

…NOT tomorrow.

2014 was indeed the turning point that I talked about last year. And, I believe that we will truly begin our descent in 2015.

Disaster is coming, so please do the best that you can to prepare. But, also know that there is a God, and He is not immune to our suffering.

Few of us will die of old age.
