Who Are Police Arming With Stolen Military Weapons? White Cops Take Care Of Themselves And Other Whites (Picture)

A young man totes a rifle through the streets. The police stop him and he proceeds to lecture rhem on his gun rights; they then allow him to leave with his skin intact.

This, while thousands of black men and youth have the exact opposite experiences.  Many of them don’t live through it. Some haven’t been armed, others were ‘armed’ with wallets, cell phones or other non-weapons, yet, they have all gotten beaten, shot, tased, chokeholed, or shot dead.

A retired black cop wrote:

…after coming out of the police academy, I was told something as a new rookie officer: You’d rather be tried by 12 jurors than carried by six pallbearers. In my impressionable first days, I saw officers leave the precinct every day touching the lockers of their fallen brothers. They started their shift on the defensive, thinking about protecting themselves, as opposed to the communities they served, regardless of the complexion of those communities. One of my white fellow officers once told me that if he saw a white individual with a gun, he took extra care for himself and the individual. When he saw a black individual with a gun, he took care only for himself.  MOREHERE

Many white cops are absolutely terrified of black men.  Civil rights attorney  Rice, who became the nemesis of LAPD,   says:

Cops can get into a state of mind where they’re scared to death. When they’re in that really, really frightened place they panic and they act out on that panic. I have known cops who haven’t had a racist bone in their bodies and in fact had adopted black children, they went to black churches on the weekend; and these are white cops. They really weren’t overtly racist. They weren’t consciously racist. But you know what they had in their minds that made them act out and beat a black suspect unwarrantedly? They had fear. They were afraid of black men. I know a lot of white cops who have told me. And I interviewed over 900 police officers in 18 months and they started talking to me, it was almost like a therapy session for them I didn’t realize that they needed an outlet to talk. MOREHERE

We have militarized our police departments, given officers surplus machine guns, grenades, mine clearing trucks and armored vehicles. We have turned them into warriors, and set them up as urban warriors–and are surprised when they act like one.

In fact, we have been so irresponsible, that we haven’t kept track of where all this dangerous stuff is.  

Departments have lost assault rifles, grenades, and who knows what else?  The Pentagon threw almost 200 police departments out of the 1033 Program for  losing, mismanaging and failure to keep track of weapons that the surplus program provided to them:

Fusion has learned that 184 state and local police departments have been suspended from the Pentagon’s “1033 program” for missing weapons or failure to comply with other guidelines. We uncovered a pattern of missing M14 and M16 assault rifles across the country, as well as instances of missing .45-caliber pistols, shotguns and 2 cases of missing Humvee vehicles.

“[The program] is obviously very sloppy, and it’s another reason that Congress needs to revisit this promptly,” said Tim Lynch, director of the CATO Institute’s project on criminal justice. “We don’t know where these weapons are going, whether they are really lost, or whether there is corruption involved.” MOREHERE

There is even a question of whether police departmehnts are profiting ffrom selling these weapons.  If they are selling military grade weapons, who are they selling this stuff to?
