James Rickards, a Covert Double-Agent of Betrayal for the CFR?

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

An ethical person – like a politician, banker or lawyer – may know right from wrong, but unlike a politician, a moral person lives it. “Marx and Engels never tried to refute their opponents with argument. They insulted, ridiculed, derided, slandered, and traduced them, and in the use of these methods their followers are not less expert. Their polemic is directed never against the argument of the opponent, but always against his person.” – Socialism http://chasvoice.blogspot.com/

Is the James Rickards banner that flies the flagstaff of the USS Libertarian a symbol of acceptance by a principled and informed crew, or fluttering limply as a warning to the world that libertarianism and its flagship are safely in the grip of the Conspiracy?

Rickards could be, indeed, that onboard undercover termite gnawing away at the sound timbers wrought by libertarian shipwrights.

The Chicago Council is heavily peppered with CFR functionaries and members. I mean even “First Lady of the United States” Michelle Obama although not CFR, is listed as a Director.

List of Chicago Council’s Board of Directors
Compare that list with the CFR Roster:

I mean as heavily credentialed and lettered as Rickards is how could logic conclude he is none other than that of a supervised sleuth for the enemies of America? If our lookout in the crow’s nest is napping we deckhands need to have the skipper haul him down for a captain’s mast.

It is of special interest to read the words of Marcus Tullius Cicero regarding the danger of internal subversion. In a speech to the Roman Senate, as recorded by Sallust, Cicero said:

“A nation can survive its fools and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and he carries his banners openly against the city. But the traitor moves among those within the gates freely, his sly whispers rustling through all alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears no traitor; he speaks in the accents familiar to his victim, and he wears their face and their garments and he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation; he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of a city; he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to be feared. The traitor is the plague.”

CURRENCY WARS: THE MAKING OF THE NEXT GLOBAL CRISIS?James Rickards, Senior Managing Partner, Tangent Capital Partners

The next global crisis may not be caused by a financial bubble, sovereign debt, derivatives, or even bullets or bombs—though it may take these forms. James Rickards argues that without an effective policy approach, the next global crisis may be caused by currency wars—among the most destructive of forces in international economics. Countries ranging from China to Switzerland, Japan to arguably even the United States have embarked on policies which, through various mechanisms, have manipulated the value of their currencies on the world markets. These self-perpetuating races to the bottom rarely end well, and if left unchecked, may present a direct threat to the national security of the United States. When a worst case scenario seems increasingly possible, what policy measures can be taken now to stave off the threat of another global crisis? Please join The Chicago Council on Global Affairs and author James Rickards as he explores these issues in greater depth and untangles the murky realm of global currency wars.

James Rickards is senior managing director of Tangent Capital Partners, a visiting lecturer at the Kellogg School at Northwestern University and the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, and an advisor to the U.S. Office of the Director of National Intelligence. He has delivered papers on econophysics at the Applied Physics Laboratory and the Los Alamos National Laboratory and written articles on cognitive diversity, network science, and risk management. Rickards has held senior executive positions at Citibank, RBS, Long-Term Capital Management (LTCM), and Caxton Associates. In 1998, he was the principal negotiator of the rescue of LTCM sponsored by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. He has been interviewed in The Wall Street Journal and The Economist, has appeared on CNBC, Fox, CNN, BBC, and NPR, and is an op-ed contributor to the Financial Times, The New York Times and The Washington Post. Rickards holds a B.A. from The Johns Hopkins University, an M.A. from the School of Advanced International Studies, a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania, and an LL.M. from New York University.

Rickards’s new book, Currency Wars: The Making of the Next Global Crisis, will be available for purchase and signing following the program.
