Adult Children of Alcoholics Why are We so Overly Critical of Others?

Abused adults from narcissistic, homes carry with them wounds no one else can see. If you were born to a narcissistic mother, you may have been overly criticized by her. When you have been verbally abused your entire life, it is impossible not to be self abusive. Often times we become codependent and neurotically seek validation from the outside of self. If alcoholism played a role, your home was littered with people who lived in denial, were narcissistic, who could not SEE you. How awful dear one…how truly awful.

Adult children of alcoholics who have been abused by their parents, tend to self abuse in a variety of ways. Without consciously realizing it, our negative self talk tends to get projected onto others. The only way to heal is to become incredibly aware of our negative self talk and then self correct it by committing to loving the Self.

There is no such thing as separation Dear One. Although your parents may have made you feel like you did not belong–YOU DO!

You belong here-you are enough-you are a human being who deserves abundance, love, joy, laughter and creativity in your life. But to create this reality, you must uncreate what others have created in you; the False Self.
