Represent Who?

Since when does a Senator of the United States tell American citizens on American soil that they must support the Israeli government otherwise, the US Senator will not will not speak with them? Well, that’s exactly what happened. I believe Senator Cruz has good qualities, a decent enough voting record and speaks out on issues that are important to me and my family. But, every time he makes the news I come back to this speech and wonder what else is waiting bubble up. What hot buttons are at the absolute core of his bribes, I mean, beliefs?

Allow Senator Cruz to tell you himself.

“…those who hate Israel, hate America.” Senator Ted Cruz.

If you watched the entire video and heard his follow up statements that were released after a period of thought, consultation and reflection, it becomes quiet clear that Cruz has an agenda that may or may be part of the oath that he swore before God and country. The country I am referring to is the United States of America and not Israel. How someone can say they represent a group of people and turn around and tell them either you get with my way of thinking or you’re off the team!!

I am bringing all this back to the fore, due to some recent comments by Cruz that reminded me of the above speech. At the CPAC launch Cruz was speaking to Sean Hannity of Fox News and laid out his “Top 5 Priorities for the United States”

“Number one,” said Cruz. “Repeal every blasted word of Obamacare.”

“Number two, abolish the IRS, take all 125,000 IRS agents and put them on our southern border,” said the senator. “Number three, stop the out of control regulators at the EPA and the alphabet soup of Washington. Number four, defend our constitutional rights – all of them, and number five, restore America’s leadership in the world as a shining city on a hill.” [Source]

This is an awesome list of priorities. These would certainly represent a good start for me and my family for a new direction.

I am really not trying to tear this guy down, as stated, I believe Cruz has some good ideas. But there will always remain the question of who he is representing. If he can stand before a group of his peers and turn against them, where does that leave you and I? We are the people he is currently addressing in order to win our vote for his Presidential bid. Does Cruz think the videos, newspaper articles and other sources that recorded the above speech have suddenly disappeared? I understand our society has the attention span of a gnat, but I will not shut up; I will not forget and I will continually remind people of the possibility of misrepresentation by Cruz, based on his own words and actions.

If you feel the need, please remind Cruz of his words and actions during this meeting in September 2014.
