HAARPed Cyclone Pam For Vanuatu Disaster Capitalism. Signs, Evidence

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

The United Nations, in an urgent appeal Tuesday, stated that 166,000 Vanuatu survivors of Cyclone Pam risk slow death from disease. Contaminated water, inadequate sanitation and no shelter were cited as reasons for the urgent appeal to help relief efforts after the category 5 tropical super storm destroyed the island nation 15 days ago. Clean water not air-dropped immediately to prevent such diseases replays suffering and death after Hurricane Katrina and other “perfect storms” driven to hit idyllic beautiful or geopolitical settings for disaster capitalism bonanzas. Signs that a HAARP-type environmental modification (ENMOD) frequency flash epicenter was applied to “unepectedly” change Pam’s course to directly hit the tax haven Vanuatu for disaster capitalism.

In Cyclone Pam’s immediate aftermath, even Vanuatu’s main islanders who’d just experienced the most terrifying storms in their lives knew outer islanders had it even worse and worried about their safety and wellbeing. Jaylene, the 21-year-old in UNICEF’s interview in the YouTube video below was among thousands who worried about those remote islanders.

Most Vanuatu inhabitants, called Ni-Vanuatu or simply Ni-Vans, are in predictably harm’s way of life-threatening disease. The UN’s urgent appeal along with statements by its local humanitarian coordinator reflected over a week of human rights violations. Some 166,000 Ni-Vans have experienced a lack clean water and sanitation, despite aid efforts that was slow to trickle into villages. Stories spread that many were “drinking mud” or salt water. Access to sanitation and shelter was nil for many.

According to the UN, more urgent assistance was required to ensure “potentially life-threatening impacts from disease, food insecurity and a lack of shelter can be avoided.”

Root crops were destroyed, according to the UN report. Cyclone Pam’s subsequent violent behavior is problematic, according to the UN. Not only root crops used for food was destroyed, but also the root crop used for kava, an addictive substance. In Vanuatu, kava is excessively used for self-medicating emotional pain. Added to the catastrophic pending disease in Vanuatu is kava users suffering withdrawal, including the likelihood of greater abusive behavior.

Vanuatu’s total population is only approximately 261,565. Out of that, the UN says 166,000 face deadly diseases. Those diseases, however, could have been prevented. The UN is obliged to work with the Vanuatu government.

Fifteen days ago, Cyclone Pam suddenly changed course for a direct hit of Vanuatu’s 84 tropical islands, noted as one of the world’s most pristine stretches of paradise islands. It is a popular vacation destination and a favored second home for the rich and famous.

‘Serious immediate risks to health and well-being

The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) launched the flash appeal. The UN’s humanitarian coordinator in Vanuatu called on people to understand immediate risks to Ni-Vans from Category 5 Tropical Cyclone Pam’s 250kmph winds with 320kmph gusts: widespread damage to agriculture, infrastructure, and impacted services. The UN’s initial assessments counted 17 dead; some 65,000 homeless; and – 166,000 urgently needing “life-saving” assistance.

“The people affected by Tropical Cyclone Pam face serious immediate risks to their health and well-being, as well as threats to their livelihoods and future resilience to disasters,” the UN’s humanitarian coordinator for Vanuatu, Osnat Lubrani stated early Tuesday. “Today we stand with the Government of Vanuatu and urgently seek the support of the international community at a time of immense need.”

Launched by both the UN and Vanuatu government, the appeal called for $29.9 million, enough for initial support to cover needs only until July. Around 75,000 people need shelter and 110,000 have no access to safe drinking water, the UN said.

“Although the people of Vanuatu have shown immense resilience and strength at this difficult time, more urgent assistance is required to ensure that Vanuatu can focus on recovering from this disaster – and that potentially life-threatening impacts from disease, food insecurity and a lack of shelter can be avoided,” added Ms. Lubrani.

No local food until June

The UN’s Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) initial assessment found “extensive damage” to crops, livestock and fisheries from the storm. Banana crops were almost entirely destroyed. Same with coconuts and all inland cabbage and leafy vegetables. Root crops were uprooted and flooded in most areas. Most fruit trees were stripped. Even chickens and pigs killed.

With the first harvest from replanted fast-growing food crops not likely to be available until mid-June, Vanuatu could be without locally produced food – and kava – until then. The UN asserts, however, that with 99 per cent of all households on the outer islands dependent on agriculture for consumption needs and income, and with 75 per cent of households in the capital, Port Vila consuming their own produce, the impact will be large.

Meanwhile, briefing reporters in Geneva, UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF) spokesperson, Christophe Boulierac, said around 82,000 children, or two-thirds of Vanuatu’s youth, urgently need humanitarian assistance.

The UN agency announced its $4.8 million humanitarian appeal as part of the wider OCHA request to ensure children and their families in Vanuatu and other affected island communities had clean water, sanitation and hygiene and health services, including immunization.

UNICEF had been on the ground treating diarrhea, caring for newborns and providing nutrient supplements, according to Mr. Boulierac. Vanuatu has a history of extensive violence, exploitation and abuse, even more so since kava became a widespread addictive substance there. Many men become violent after the substance wears off, until they consume more, according to WHO research reports by Deborah Dupré in 1999 – 2001. After Cyclone Pam hit, in accessible villages, UNICEF has been working to protect children from violence, exploitation, and abuse, according to Mr. Boulierac.

Disaster Capitalism

Naomi Klein warned in her best seller book Shock Doctrine that disaster capitalism was coming soon to a disaster area near you. From the “War on Terror” to “natural catastrophes,” New World Order profiteers reap the benefits.

“At the most chaotic juncture in Iraq” civil war, a new law is unveiled that will allow Shell and BP to claim the country’s vast oil reserves… Immediately following September 11, the Bush Administration quietly outsources the running of the ‘War on Terror’ to Halliburton and Blackwater… After a tsunami wipes out the coasts of Southeast Asia, the pristine beaches are auctioned off to tourist resorts…

Vanuatu and New Orleans appear to have much in common now. Asian tsunami survivors also know first-hand what disaster capitalism looks like, according to Klein. After New Orleans residents were scattered by Hurricane Katrina in a so-called rapid response there, they discovered their public housing, hospitals and schools would never re-open. They also watched from afar a mega 5-star hotel and casino boom right on the coastline where throughout history, no building had ever been allowed.

Klein names names in her book, notably economist Milton Friedman and his radical Chicago School of the 1950s and 60s. She notes Friedman “produced many of the leading neo-conservative and neo-liberal thinkers whose influence is still profound in Washington today.” Donald Rumsfeld is among those named.

Noteworthy in Vanuatu’s post-Cyclone Pam is  what The Publisher’s Weekly says about Klein’s disaster capitalism theory launched by Friedman and subsequent corporate seizure of land for privatization:

Because their results are disastrous—depressions, mass poverty, private corporations looting public wealth, by the author’s accounting—their means must be cataclysmic, dependent on political upheavals and natural disasters… Klein chronicles decades of such disasters, including the Chicago School makeovers launched by South American coups; the corrupt sale of Russia’s state economy to oligarchs following the collapse of the Soviet Union; the privatization of New Orleans’s public schools after Katrina; and the seizure of wrecked fishing villages by resort developers after the Asian tsunami. Klein’s economic and political analyses are not always meticulous. Likening free-market shock therapies to electroshock torture, she conflates every misdeed of right-wing dictatorships with their economic programs and paints a too simplistic picture of the Iraq conflict as a struggle over American-imposed neo-liberalism…. she demonstrates how free-market ideologues welcome, and provoke, the collapse of other people’s economies.

Cyclone Pam’s ‘Unexpected Turn’, ‘Frequency Flash Epicenters

Specualtions are that Cyclone Pam was driven by man, not only by climate change but also ENMOD  for weather manipulation. Dutchsinse says abut HAARP-type technology around the world,  “I propose that a series of ground based stations, using a HAARP type technology (i.e. a ground based station that emits a high frequency or low frequency) .. is being used to produce pulses which we see appear on RADAR for a short time.

“It would appear this high frequency electromagnetic pulse is done to “heat” the atmosphere above each station …. possibly to create an “artificial ionospheric mirror = AIM” WITHIN THE ATMOSPHERE, maybe to have some other yet unknown effect OTHER than weather modification, or these pulses could quite possibly be done for the sole purpose of engineering the weather.”

Duthsinse says, “SEVERAL times, too often to be a coincidence… we see severe weather… hit these frequency flash epicenters. This usually occurs within 48 hours of the high frequency being emitted from the ground based station (usually a ground based NEXRAD RADAR or similar produces the pulse).”

Heat can be reflected back to small areas on Earth. Heat drives hurricanes and cyclones. Approximately 48 hours before Hurricane Katrina, an “unnatural” heat bank in the Gulf of Mexico was detected by radar below New Orleans, driving the hurricane in a direct path of the city, according to scientiists on NOLA forum – before the hurricane ever made landfall. Likewaise, Pam “unexpectedly turned” west to hit Vanuatu, according to many early reports, some apparently scrubbed from the internet. The reader can still see: “An unexpected change of direction led to a ‘direct hit’ on populated areas.” (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2993912/Powerful-cyclone-smashes-Pacific-Islands-44-people-reported-killed-Vanuatu.html#ixzz3VbIV1bQx) NCPR reported in Category 5 Cyclone Pam Pummels Vanuatu | NCPR News (www.northcountrypublicradio.org/news/npr/146305287/first…): The cyclone made an unexpected westward change of …”

Vanuatu destroyed. Now what?

Adopting Klein’s theory, considering Vanuatu’s rich environment, one might well brace for island privatization, especially considering Vanuatu is one of the world’s most idyllic settings for the rich and famous. That Vanuatu is also home to the world’s oldest living culture is of little value to New World Order rulers. That is, little value except maybe the likes of low-wage workers serving the wealthy and enough survivors to continue entertaining and selling beads and bangles for the pleasure of cruise ship tourists.

That’s already recently begun on remote islands. Unlike what locals there had been told, the hefty tourist cruise ship docking fees have not benefited the islanders.
