Whoops! DC Delegate Demonstrates How NOT to Park

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

Silly politicians and their antics…

D.C. Delegate Eleanor Holmes Norton appeared to have quite a struggle maneuvering her vehicle into a parking spot yesterday.

An observer watched in bewilderment as Holmes, 77, forced her way into a spot in the corridor of New Jersey Avenue Southeast between the Longworth and Cannon House Office buildings.

The horrified tipster recorded the stunt and sent the footage to Heard on the Hill’s Roll Call:

Oh dear.

Was Norton confused by the parking space alignment…or is it perhaps time for her to relinquish her keys and let someone else take the wheel? (Not the aide in the video, please – he appears to be equally oblivious.)

It sure looked like she hit the vehicle next to her, but her office says there wasn’t any damage:

“After the Congresswoman parked her car, we assessed the cars on either side to see if there was any damage. We could not find any,” a Norton aide assured HOH. “But we left a note with a business card so the congresswoman could be contacted in case we missed any.”

According to Team Norton, the congressional staffer who owns the truck that was boxed in by the septuagenarian pol reached out to her office about the videotaped scrape.

“The Congresswoman heard from the owner of the only car she was close enough to damage. The owner reported no damage,” a Norton spokesman said via email.

This isn’t Norton’s first car-related blunder. In June 2014, this happened:

Perhaps Norton should try another form of transportation, like the Metro or the bus.
