Petraeus Gets Slap On Wrist For Leaking State Secrets, As Others Face Jail For Lesser Offenses

Former CIA director and retired general, David Petraeus, finally (and quietly) got his day in court this week. Surprise, surprise – he’ll do no time for violating the Espionage Act and just about every other state secrets law on the books.

Back in 2012, both Petraeus and fellow US general John Allen were could in a double honey trap, with Petraeus taking to the worst fallout of the two because it was revealed that he had divulged, or ‘leaked’ classified information relating to US national security, during pillow-talk sessions with his then ‘biographer’ and mistress Paula Broadwell.

Many feel that Petraeus is as guilty, if not more, than other well-publicized ‘leakers’ who have been targeted by the federal investigators including CIA analyst Jeffrey Sterling, Gen. James Cartwright, Bradley-Chelsea Manning, and even Ed Snowden – all of whom the US government has been keen to see locked-up and behind bars. The Intercept reports:

“Lawyers for Jeffrey Sterling, convicted earlier this year of leaking classified information to New York Times reporter James Risen, urged today that Sterling “not receive a different form of justice” than David Petraeus, the former general and CIA director who has pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor for leaking classified information to his biographer.”

But not Petraeus. He’s a made man in terms of the globalist mafia. He’s the special one, and a member of the elite Bilderberg Group, who’s clearly has been groomed for more important internationalist and Atlanticist endeavors, and thus cannot be punished.

As the story was times at the end of a busy news week for Washington, it received little or no media coverage by US majors, which is designed to protect the image of this important globalist deal maker and associate architect of what he sees as a fast-approaching North American Union. Petraeus has also been caught working on enhancing the global Big Data ‘spy grid’ at Bilderberg in 2013.

In his Washington Post end-of-career eulogy Petraeus is said to be “considered one of the greatest military minds of his generation”.

That’s not saying much, considering what the US military has managed to destroy and mame over the course of this last generation. Of course, Petraeus is somehow credited with the 2007 ‘Troop Surge’ in Iraq, with endless kudos bestowed upon the retired general for sending an additional 30,000 US troops back into the quagmire which Washington itself started in 2003. Yes, truly a work of military genius.

CHARLOTTE — David H. Petraeus, a retired general considered one of the greatest military minds of his generation, pleaded guilty Thursday to a misdemeanor charge of mishandling classified materials, ending a long-running legal saga that had threatened to send him to prison.

Petraeus, who admitted he provided the materials to his former mistress and biographer, will instead face a two-year probationary period. U.S. Magistrate Judge David Keesler also imposed a $100,000 fine — more than double the amount recommended by prosecutors — to reflect the “seriousness of the offense.”

Before the sentencing, Keesler asked Petraeus whether he wanted to address the court. The former CIA director apologized to “those closest to me and others, including this court, for the pain my actions have caused.”

The plea follows a high-profile investigation and prosecution that triggered Petraeus’s resignation from the CIA in 2012. As part of an agreement with prosecutors, he admitted that he improperly removed and retained highly sensitive information in eight personal notebooks that he gave the biographer, Paula Broadwell, to read…
