Reversing Type 2 Diabetes: Ignore “Guidelines” and Do This Instead

Dr. Sarah is the medical director and founder of the Indiana University-Arnett Health Medical Weight Loss Program. She runs the website FitterU with science writer Steve Tally.

Steve couldn’t be more correct.

He goes on to explain that, while weight loss companies and celebrity-types are known for promoting “snake oil” weight reduction programs and products, there is another source of bad information that has had a larger – and far more detrimental – impact on the health of Americans.

In 1977, a time of disco pants and haircuts, the U.S. government issued nutritional guidelines that called for reduced fat and higher carbohydrates in our diets, and other federal agencies and health groups fell in line. The problem was, as pointed out by science journalist Gary Taubes, there were serious concerns at the time that the guidelines were not based on scientific research, and since then the dietary guidelines have become a fine example of the influence of corporations and special interest groups. So what has happened to obesity rates since the guidelines were issued?

Dr. Sarah recently gave a TEDx talk at Purdue University, and it’s fantastic. In it, she discusses how Type 2 diabetes can be reversed by ignoring the government’s guidelines.

      Why don’t doctors teach their patients about nutrition? Let’s take a look at an example, Adult Onset Type 2 Diabetes to find out why. There are 16 million people in America with Adult Onset Type 2 Diabetes. The fastest growing age group with adult onset type 2 diabetes are kids under the age of 12. It used to be only found in people 45 to50 years of age and above. You could almost diagnose it by the age of onset. You can’t do that any more, because more and more kids under the age of 12 are developing adult onset type 2 diabetes. So lets briefly look at diabetes. 2 slides left here. It’s the number 3 killer of , I can’t say adults anymore, the number 3 killer of people in America today, it causes blindness of all kinds, kidney failure, kidney transplant, cardiovascular disease, amputation of toe, feet and legs. Doctors love diabetic patients because it used to be 250,000 to 500,000 that a doctor would make off his diabetic patients.

      Today according to CNN Factoids, CDC (Center for Disease Control) GAO, now its 600,000 to 750,000 dollars that each diabetic is worth to a doctor. Doctors love diabetics, they are great cash cows.

      There should not be a single diabetic in America, its totally preventable. It’s criminal ladies and gentlemen. We learned in 1957, 42 years ago that we could prevent and cure adult onset type 2 diabetes in animals. Simply by supplementing with 2 trace minerals. You see adult onset type 2 diabetics make 10 times more insulin than non diabetics. They make tons on insulin. What do they need insulin pumps for.         I love taters too. Started steaming cauliflower, and mashing it up like taters, with white cheese and some seasoning. It’s close to the real thing.

          Yes, this makes an excellent substitute. And you notice you don’t get sleepy after the meal, like you would with a bug helping of mashed potatoes. That’s the real hard core evidence.

      That’s pretty much how I cured my diabetes. I got fed up with my mainstream physician and instead went to an alternative medical practitioner who was also a doctor. He put me on vitamins, chromium, xylitol, and homeopathic medications combined with a diet similar to Atkins. Took a while, but gradually my polyneuropathy went away, then all the other symptoms as well. It’s been 11 years since I took any of the “official” medicaments, which only control the symptoms, but do not cure the condition.
      What also helped was quitting beer, and drinking a lot less alcohol. Nowadays if I do drink it’s strictly wine.
      Another thing to consider is the fact that there was an 800% increase in type 2 diabetes diagnoses in NYC following the 911 attacks, and that’s exactly where I was living at the time. Could stress be a factor in that? Could be, either that or all the environmental pollutants that were released where Christine Whitman told us the air and everything was OK, only for us to find out a year later that she lied.

      Yes, don’t follow the government guidelines. It is one of the biggest cause of obesity and diabetes. But why you say?

      IT is to support and make healthy the wheat and grain industry basically. They paid the politician’s bill so you get the bull.

      Low carb “good” fat diet and lots of vegetables and good protein is most desirable to keep diabetes off.

      I was type 2 which is insulin resistance. I now am not —-

      By eliminating all wheat products for a year and taking one table spoon of “Hi Maze resistance” starch once in the morning and once in the afternoon I was able to reduce my blood sugar level to under 80 and as low as 70.

      I no longer crave sugar or have large swings in my blood sugar levels.
