Veterans get a free ride in a P-51 Mustang (VIDEO)
I was recently invited by Freedom Flyers out of Burnet, Texas to partake in a day of giving Veterans a ride in Pecos Bill, which is a P-51D Mustang. This beautiful war bird is the pride of Cowden Ward who is on a mission to give as many World War Two Veterans a free ride in the P-51.
Every year, Freedom Flyers fly take over 100 Veterans for free rides in Pecos Bill all over Texas and beyond.
It also gives a chance for Veterans to come together and share their stores and experiences while they wait for their ride.
Now I was there to film but when Cowden asked if I wanted to go up for a short ride, I was beside myself. I love airplanes and this flight was out of this world. I will never forget it for as long as I live. I had a smile stretched across my face for a week after my flight.
