Jericho Tucker tweeted CopBlock’s Twitter with the video link above. The video is only 56 seconds but shows Austin, TX police arresting two individuals in a large gathering of people. Immediately after the video starts you notice 4 or more police officers on horses come into view. They start to jog a circle around the officers trying to make the arrest and while doing so run their horses into several people. You will even notice, 20 seconds into the video, a Austin Police officer snatches a camera from one of the bystanders attempting to film the police actions.
Austin, TX is one of the most saturated places for police accountability activity, not only are there several CopBlock.org Groups (Texas CopBlock, North Texas and more), but Austin is also homebase to the “Peaceful Streets Project” (a nearly defunct group at this time). So it’s pretty amazing to see the police act such a way after years of interactions with Police Accountability activists of all sorts.
