Basis of Truth: Genesis 1:27-28

The unity of the homosexual relationship does not allow for the fulfillment of God’s command to fill the earth. There is no physical possibility for the homosexual relationship to yield a population of the earth. Frankly, God did not design a male-male or a female-female relationship because it is contrary to his command and His design for relationships. Therefore, regardless of how the Supreme Court defines marriage, my definition is based upon God’s Word. God created them male and female and commanded them to fill the earth; therefore, my definition of marriage will reflect such a position.

However, this ruling on homosexual marriage reveals more than a definition about who can and cannot marry. This ruling reflects an ever-growing expanse between a biblical worldview and a secular worldview. Now the question facing every person who accepts the Bible as the ultimate authority for day-to-day living is this: What do you use as the governing authority in your life decisions and worldview? Specifically, does the Supreme Court define right and wrong, or does God define right and wrong, righteous and evil? When compared to God’s Word, it does not matter what the Supreme Court legalizes or upholds. The Word of God stands forever and is unaffected by a human court; God’s decrees reflect His Character and are rooted in His holiness, unchanged by the will of society. 

Now is the time for those who call themselves believers in Jesus Christ to make a stand upon the foundation of God’s Word regardless of what society upholds, supports, or legalizes. Every belief, decision, outlook, or action should be measured against God’s standard not against society’s opinion or standard. The Supreme Court and society around us does not set my standards of right and wrong. Rather, I have made the decision to stand upon the unchanging truth of God’s Word for my worldview. I pray you have made the same decision.
