CERN Turned On the LHC Yesterday – Critics Fear Destructive Black Hole
CERN have turned on the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at double the power on Wednesday, in an attempt to search for parallel universes.
The powerful machine is said to be capable of producing black holes, which some critics fear could swallow up the entire universe.
13 tera electron volts of energy are being used for the tests being conducted today.

The more powerful experiment is sure to inflame critics who warned the high energy particle collider when first started could spell the end of our universe by creation an artificial mega black hole of its own.
But LCH experts are convinced it is safe, even though they may create black holes and that gravity from our own universe may ‘leak’ into any parallel universe, as so far Geneva remains intact and comfortably outside an “event horizon”.
Mir Faizal, one of three physicists behind the experiment, said: “Just as many parallel sheets of paper, which are two dimensional objects [breadth and length] can exist in a third dimension [height], parallel universes can also exist in higher dimensions.
“We predict that gravity can leak into extra dimensions, and if it does, then miniature black holes can be produced at the LHC.”
The bizarre “atom smasher”, based at the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) in Switzerland, is hidden in more than 16 miles of underground tunnels beneath the Swiss-French border.
