Oh Come ON: We’re Supposed to Believe That’s NOT a Pack of Cigarettes Obama Is Holding

Really, White House, really? Just exactly how dumb to they think everybody is?

Above is a picture snapped of our president chatting with Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi during the G7 summit.

White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest went on record to emphatically deny those are cigarettes in Obama’s hands:

Earnest told reporters Wednesday that he doesn’t know what the president was holding, and said he didn’t ask Obama what it was.

Referring to the photo, a reporter asked, “Does he have a pack of cigarettes in his hand?”

Earnest responded, “He does not.”

“What was it?” the reporter followed

“I don’t know. I wasn’t there,” Earnest said.

The reporter asked if Obama told Earnest what it was.

“You may not be surprised to hear that I have not raised this issue with the president,” Earnest said.

After the reporter continued to press, Earnest said, “I’ve told you that they’re not cigarettes. Let’s move on.” (source)

Okay then, Mr. Earnest. We’ll play your fun little game… So, pray tell, what are they?

Sarcasm aside…

Frankly, who cares if Dear Leader lights up?

The problem is none of the White House press called foul when Josh Earnest stridently claimed the president wasn’t holding a pack of cigs, proving once again the people who are put in place to pretend to be running things really do think everybody is just a blind idiot. Earnest wasn’t there and he admitted he didn’t discuss it with Obama, so he had no way to know either way, yet somehow Earnest forcefully told a room full of reporters that Obama was NOT holding a cigarette pack. Did he even see the picture he was defending?

Earnest can probably pass a lie detector test as well as any pathological liar could, maybe more easily, but still. Not the point.

This is about as stupid as that time the White House sent out that photo taken strategically so it looks like Obama magically makes rainbows appear out of his hands.
