Yee, co-conspirators cop to plea agreements for up to 20 years in jail
Court documents obtained by Guns.com show that Leland Yee as well as co-conspirator Marlon Sullivan along with Keith and Brandon Jackson are looking at two decades behind bars.
The four appeared before U.S. District Judge Charles Breyer Wednesday for the purpose of changing their former not guilty pleas.
According to the agreements entered Wednesday in a U.S. District Court in San Francisco, Leland Yee plead guilty to Count Two of the incitement against him that of conspiracy to participate in an enterprise through a pattern of racketeering activity. In exchange, he faces a maximum prison term of up to 20 years along with 3 years of supervised release and a $250,000 fine.
Yee admitted that he received funds totaling more than $34,600 over a four-year period in cash and checks from both undercover agents and other sources and agreed that a similar amount in cash and funds seized by the government from his residence and bank account are forfeit.
Yee’s political consultant Keith Jackson’s 11-page agreement also shows him pleading to the single racketeering charge for up to 20 years in prison. In the agreement he admitted to receiving some $36,000 in funds to further weapons trafficking deals as well as to help sway Yee’s vote on pending legislation.
Keith Jackson’s son, Brandon Jamelle Jackson, likewise plead guilty to a single charge of racketeering through the Chee Kung Tong association to the same punishment as Yee. He admitted that between 2012 and his arrest he assisted in cocaine deals and murder-for-hire conversations as well as the selling, without a license of more than a dozen weapons classified as assault rifles in California. He agreed to forfeit 35 weapons seized by the government as well as $454,557 seized.
Former sports agent Marlon Darnell Sullivan, a friend of the younger Jackson, took the guilty plea for racketeering in connection with the CKT and admitted to discussing with undercover agents his willingness to perform a murder for hire with prices ranging from $10,000 to $15,000 for the hit.
A sentencing hearing for the four men is set for Oct. 21.
