***Shocking And Highly Disturbing*** Two US TV Station Employees Shot To Death on Air

26 Aug 15

America has become very, very dark. Evil and madness is closing in. CNN is even AIRING THE SHOOTING (Real murder for entertainment?) vid link found in the second report. Out of respect to the family, I am not including the graphic video.

Unknown shooter kills reporter and cameraman doing on-the-scene interview in a shopping mall in Virginia

MONETA, Viginia — A television reporter and cameraman were shot to death on the air during a live broadcast Wednesday morning in Virginia by a gunman the governor described as a disgruntled station employee who was being chased by police on a nearby highway.

During an appearance on WTOP-FM’s “Ask the Governor” on Wednesday morning, Gov. Terry McAuliffe said that law enforcement personnel have a photo of the suspect and that he was known to the victims.

McAuliffe said the shooter was believed to be a disgruntled employee of the TV station and was being chased by police on Interstate 64. The governor said his arrest should be “imminent.”

“It’s just a tragedy,” McAuliffe said.

Jeffrey A. Marks, general manager of WDBJ-TV, identified the two killed as Alison Parker and Adam Ward.

Video shows Parker interviewing an economic development official around 6:45 a.m. about tourism on Bridgewater Plaza in Franklin County, looking at the upcoming 50th anniversary festivities for Smith Mountain Lake. The station said in a tweet shortly before the shooting that Parker was looking into the planning process for a celebration.

Parker was smiling when suddenly at least eight shots were heard. Parker screams, runs and can be heard saying, “Oh my God.”

As the camera drops to the ground, it captures what appears to be a fleeting image of the shooter. The person is wearing black pants and a blue top and appears to be holding a handgun.

The station then switches back to a shot of an anchor back at the station, who appears shocked and says, “OK, not sure what happened there. We will of course let you know as soon as we find out what those sounds were from.”

In a tweet, the station said: “We love you, Alison and Adam.”

Parker just turned 24 and attended James Madison University, where she was the editor of the school’s newspaper, The Breeze. She also had been an intern at WDBJ-TV.

According to her Facebook page, Parker spent most of her life outside Martinsville, Virginia. She was an avid kayaker and attended community theater events in her spare time.

Her boyfriend, WDBJ anchor Chris Hurst, said they hadn’t shared their relationship publicly but “were very much in love.” He said they had just moved in together and wanted to get married. She had just finished a special package on child abuse for the station, he said.

“I am numb,” he said.

The station’s website says Ward was 27 and a graduate of Virginia Tech. He was engaged to a producer at the station, Melissa Ott, said WDBJ spokesman Mike Morgan.

“Adam was our go-to guy. He pretty much was available to do anything that we asked,” Morgan said. “He did live shots during our morning show for several years.”

The station is based in Roanoke, Virginia, and serves the southwest and central part of the state. The shopping mall where the incident happened is just off Smith Mountain Lake in Moneta, about 25 miles southeast of Roanoke.

Twenty schools in the area, which are attended by about 10,000 students, were placed on lockdown as a precaution, said Bedford County schools spokesman Ryan Edwards. SOURCE

Virginia TV reporter, photographer killed in shooting during live interview

ABC News reported that it has received a fax containing a 23-page manifesto from someone named Bryce Williams, the news outlet tweeted. The document has been handed over to investigators, ABC said.

Police are seeking a former WDBJ-TV reporter in connection with the shooting deaths of a reporter and photographer on live television Wednesday, a representative of the Augusta County Sheriff’s Department said.

Vester Flanagan is driving a 2009 gray Ford Mustang, the sheriff’s representative said, stopping short of calling Flanagan a suspect.

Flanagan worked at WDBJ as a reporter for about a year using the on-air name, Bryce Williams, according to a former WDBJ employee.

Flanagan was fired from the station, though the reason was not made public, the ex-employee said.

It is believed that Flanagan is still in the Virginia area, a law enforcement source briefed on the search said.

Two videos posted on a Twitter account under the name, Bryce Williams, show someone walking up to the WDBJ news crew and pointing a gun at them.

Another tweet says, “I filmed the shooting.” The Facebook and Twitter account were suspended shortly after the tweets.

One of the videos shows the gunman approaching WDBJ reporter Alison Parker and photographer Adam Ward as Parker conducted a routine interview about a local story outside Moneta, Virginia.

Ward’s back is to the gunman. Parker is in profile, and the interviewee is facing the gunman. The shooter appears to take his time aiming the gun, presenting it and then withdrawing it, before composing the angle of his video. He opens fire on Parker first. Both Parker and the interviewee scream.

On air, the audience saw the camera fall to the ground and caught the briefest glimpse of a man who appeared to point a gun toward the downed cameraman.

The station cut away to a shocked anchor, Kimberly McBroom, back in the studio.

Parker, 24, and photographer Adam Ward, 27, were killed at Bridgewater Plaza near Moneta, the station reported later. READ MORE Plus graphic video :(
