A severe storm hit Peru with very little warning bringing flooding and mudslides and there’s almost no information about it, and storms have hit multiple locations in the USA and Canada bringing heavy winds, lightning and rain.

Shortly after the storm in Peru, a resident of Mira Flores in Lima filmed this colourful UFO. I wonder what they’re doing…

Taiwan was hit very hard with Typhoon Soudelor last week of course.

We had black skies here in the Valley of the Sun on Tuesday morning, but gale-force winds were the only outcome. They ripped green leaves off a tree in our yard, and tore a sign post down. I’ve never seen such a wind. I battened down all the shutters as I was half expecting a projectile to come through a window.

Tuesday night, however, a spectacular lightning show for over an hour prefaced a short thunderstorm and we got a little rain. The power went out just long enough to mean a reset of a clock and satellite TV.

Friday the 7th brought us thunderstorms off and on all day, but little rain. Since I had to get the power unit in my PC replaced a couple of weeks ago when the power went out prior to a storm, I shut my PC off all day.

Weather is wacky and extreme all over the globe and still no typical monsoon rain season here in the desert, unfortunately. Rather than having a storm every day, we’re getting an average of one a week, if we’re lucky—but the showers are not widespread, just spotty.

It’s frustrating to see clouds dropping rain 10 miles away when we get nothing. I hope August and September will top us up—but not all at once!  ~ BP   SOURCE
