A massive explosion has ripped through a region in China.
Bright flames and black smoke were seen from what is thought to be a chemical factory this evening.
The explosion was seen and heard in the industrial zone of Lijin, Dongying City, in Shandong, just before 11.30pm local time.
It is not yet known if there are any injuries or fatalities.
The explosion was reported by the People’s Daily newspaper – the Communist Party-owned publication.
No further details have yet been released.

Can you tell me why you think this article is stupid? I think huge, unexplained explosions over just a couple weeks sends red flags up everywhere, or are you still one of the sheeple? Good day my fine bovine friend, I think you are on to something, I don’t think the first one was a “rod form god” attack, I think all these “accidents” over there are all self inflicted, bit like a teenager acting out for attention. But the question is… what are they trying to draw our attention from? Is this a distraction, if so from what?
