Controversial Viral Video Has Everybody in an Uproar!

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

YouTube and Mainstream media are currently in a literal UPROAR over one simple commentary-style video making its rounds on social media.  The name of the 6-minute video is simply “Dear Fat People,” produced by YouTuber, Nicole Arbour.

News networks and talk shows are making a big deal about it, while other YouTubers are reacting to it by making response videos. Of course this firestorm is just bringing more attention to it and delivering even MORE views (and subscribers) to Arbor’s channel.  Seems like everybody wants in on the “Dear Fat People” action. Who knows, I may produce one myself.  But it won’t be for the reason everyone else is talking about it.

Apparently the video was flagged so many times that Google removed Arbours entire channel for a day or two. Here’s the video: BEWARE!  Arbour is quite vulger and freely uses the F bomb.

Many say that enforcing censorship is bogus.  People, they contend, should be allowed to say whatever it is they wanna say, however they wanna say it without fear of censorship.  Offending people is a natural right every human being on this planet inherently possesses. The free market has a way of getting rid of who it doesn’t want and accepting the ones it does.  And let’s face it, statistics show that even since the “Fat People” video, Arbour’s channel has continued to grow at a rate of about 6,000 to 15,000 subscribers a day!  Like it or not, there’s obviously a demand for her brand of content.

Part of the problem with giving so much airtime to something that, to many, seems so petty is that there are many other things people should be giving their attention to before dipping their foot into these distracting waters.  There are criminals out there….REAL BLOODTHIRSTY criminals, who destroyed the lives of THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE on 9/11 and tens of thousands more in the subsequent wars.  They’re roaming free…perhaps plotting their next “terrorist attack.”

There are “officials” working RIGHT NOW to take away more of your rights and freedoms as we get diverted with these lightweight topics.

“Fat Shaming” seems to be the main nerve upon which Arbour leaned.  I would just say this:  If someone feels shame for what they are today because of the choices they made in days past, it is not the fault of the one who is pointing out your current condition.  No one MADE you make those choices.  No one forced chips down your throat or held a gun to your head as you slurpped down that last spoonful of icecream before bed…(IF that’s how you got fat).

YOU are the captain of your own ship and the direction in which you are now headed depends largely on you and your desires, NOT the desires and dictates of others.

After watching the video I’d rather get fat than as stupid as Nicole.Seems that stupidity and vulgarity is the best way to get 15.000 clicks a day…Sad times we’re living in…

ARE YOU SERIOUS??? HEARING candor and the F bomb is MORE OFFENSIVE than non-medical related, MORBIDLY OBESE gluttons who IMPOSE their consequences on those of us who are not???
You’ve got it TWISTED!!! The Orwellian rationale, love is hate, black is white, right is wrong…

Ridicule, chastisement, criticism should only be UNACCEPTABLE when it relates to something BEYOND A PERSONS CONTROL!!! When it’s within a persons control (ability to decide and choose action) then that person positions themselves for those very things. It’s called consequence of choice. However, this does not mean they’re unloved by others, it’s just a dose of reality!

Nichole’s video states CLEARLY the reason for doing the video is because the obese persons have people who LOVE them and she’s saying what most people don’t have the moxie to say – the truth!

Of course the greatest excuse is, everyone has different ways of coping with life. I argue how you cope with it MATTERS! A person who hates his mother and “copes” by raping and killing women IS NOT excusable because that’s what he chooses to do to cope! Don’t miss the point here, I’m not suggesting the consequences for an obese person is the same as a rapist/murderer. (Although in a sense, an obese person is killing themselves!) What I AM saying (first example for impact) is that just because people cope differently, doesn’t make the coping method acceptable. If the coping method imposes a consequence on others – it’s NOT COPING at all and obviously not working. Rather it’s really an avoidance of coping! In other words, it’s NOT taking responsibility to manage our own lives in a beneficial way – it’s expected that others should accommodate, support, yield, enable and be responsible indiscriminately for what we are not willing to do for ourselves. HOW SELFISH!!! Sorry, I’ve got to be responsible and accountable for ME – that’s a full time job and I don’t know why I should have to be responsible and accountable for YOU too! Do it you’re own DARN self! Do you honestly think the rest of us haven’t had trauma, stress or hardship in our lives or thousands of other excuses to behave poorly? Make no mistake, we have but instead have CHOOSEN to deal with it in a non-imposing manner. Personally, I feel sorry for you BECAUSE you feel sorry for yourself. When you start respecting yourself, then I will respect you as well. Countless people like me love to support those who champion to help themselves. It contagious and everyone benefits.

But, IF you insist on making excuses to justify BAD CHOICES, then he are some resolutions that challenge those EXCUSES:

Emotional baggage and/or traumatic experiences – known as PTSD. According to the American Psychological Association “The good news is, research has shown that psychological interventions can help prevent these long-term, chronic psychological consequences. Cognitive-behavioral therapies (CBT) (which strive to help traumatized individuals understand and manage the anxiety and fear they are experiencing) have proven very effective in producing significant reductions in PTSD symptoms (generally 60-80%) in several civilian populations… CBT includes: (1) education, (2) various forms of relaxation therapy, (3) in vivo exposure (repeated confrontations with the actual traumatic stressor and with situations that evoke trauma-related fears), and (4) cognitive restructuring (techniques for replacing catastrophic, self-defeating thought patterns with more adaptive, self-reassuring statements).”

GMO, hormones, antibiotics, high fructose corn syrup, artificial sweeteners, processed and preservative laden foods – Get out from behind that TV, off the virtual reality/social media websites and READ about the effects of consuming these products. OF COURSE YOU’RE FAT from eating them – you’re body CAN NOT metabolize unnatural chemicals. Hence the catalyst for diabetes, cancer, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, heart attack, etc., etc. But don’t take MY words for it – STUDY IT FOR YOURSELF! You have to DECIDE to phase out these things. It doesn’t have to be cold turkey, start with giving yourself permission to have HALF as much as normal for a certain timeframe (say two weeks). Then when you’ve accomplished that, reduce it by half again for two weeks. Continue until you have phased them out. Then you won’t go into shock, feel deprived and you’ll be making strides towards an “improved you” which is a HUGE motivation to keep going. I used to drink up to 8 cans of pop a day (no ice, straight out of the can), that was my vice. LOVED pop! Everywhere I went, I had a can in hand. When I realized how I was packing on the pounds, I decided I needed to do something. So I DECIDED that I would allow myself 3 cans a day. One in the morning, late afternoon and evening. I would drink purified water in between (which I hated the notion of – flavorless, dull but wet) just anxiously waiting until the time rolled around for my next pop. What a sweet reward for my determination. As the days passed, I found I was only drinking 2 pops a day. I wasn’t thinking about it as much and ultimately I was finding it didn’t taste as good as it used to. Now I don’t drink them at all. The greatest thing is, I lost 30 pounds in two months just because I DECIDED to do one thing differently. For me, that put me back to my ideal body weight. In the case of obesity, it’s going to take time and it will be more than one thing but it can be done incrementally. You didn’t get that way overnight but once you start seeing 2 lbs, 5 lbs, 10lbs off, it’s encouraging because you know it’s working!

Depressed, too tired and you don’t feel well – OF COURSE YOU’RE TIRED and DON’T FEEL WELL! And that only ADDS to your depression! Your body is working so hard to function under pressure and process all of those useless calories that it’s plain exhausted! I can’t imagine my skeleton trying to tote around 100+ EXTRA pounds of cement everyday, everywhere I go. Determine to get up and DO SOMETHING! Stay in motion and that doesn’t mean hand to mouth! Get up and move. Stand up and stretch for 5 minutes, walk a couple stairs a few times, clean parts of your house, walk around the house, walk to the mailbox, take the garbage out, park in the rear of the lot at the store, whatever you can do incrementally to increase activity. IT WILL BURN calories. Listen, I HATE THE GYM and refuse to go. I will find any and all ways to accomplish the same type of activity by disguising them as the aforementioned and it doesn’t cost a thing. Just KEEP IT MOVING! ALSO, if you’re on an anti-depressant – do your homework about those also. They CAUSE DEPRESSION and suicidal tendencies!!! Research, research and do more research! Occupy your mind with getting informed and finding solutions versus rehashing what upsets you and reliving what has already past. You CAN NOT change what has already happened – you’ve already felt the pain and been punished enough – now it’s time to LET it go! Since you can NOT change the past or anyone else, doesn’t it only make sense that IF YOU WANT TO CHANGE something, YOUR present and future are the only options left??? That’s the best and only place to start.

Organic foods are too expensive – Well not ALL obese people are poor! And for the ones that are, substitute organic where you can. A package of free range meat is more expensive BUT it’s better to have quality over quantity! Besides, if you can afford the quantity of food to sustain obesity, you can afford organic. Eating out is EXPENSIVE and fast food is POISON! You’ll most likely SAVE money, you will feel fulfilled after eating it AND it will nourish your body! You won’t need the empty fillers afterwards. The crap they sell from the industrial farms leaves your body craving nutrition, which leads you to believe you’re still hungry and the response is to poke more stuff in there to try to feel fulfilled. You’re UNDERNOURISHED! Snacking mindlessly to be busy doesn’t help matters either. Instead of plowing through a bag of chips, eat a substitution like popcorn or sunflower seeds in the shell for example. They’re salty, crunchy and takes time to eat without gorging yourself on empty carbs that turn to sugar that turns to more fat! You’re obviously not running around busy all the time, get creative – use the internet to inspire you and to inform yourself. Who gives a crap about who slept with who, who’s wearing what and all the other drama in social media? Apparently obese people have had their own share of drama and that’s why their in that condition – why add more???

I don’t know, maybe it’s just me because I’m a REALIST… I care about humanity and I know I too come across harsh at times. Often the truth IS hard to hear but that’s exactly what we need to get our attention to effect thought and change. But for heavens sakes, if EACH OF US would be willing to “BE THE CHANGE WE WANT TO SEE IN THE WORLD” then perhaps we would ALL stand a chance of a brighter future!

For any of you who want to lose weight, I highly recommend a book, called “Wheat Belly, Total Health, Lose the Wheat, Lose the Weight”.

I actually found a copy at my local library.

And Dr. Davis does a special program once in a while on the PBS channel, usually late at night, and of course it’s called “Wheat Belly”.

      • becomingme

The author is Dr. William Davis, and there are several videos of his lectures on you tube.

Dey shmell like bullonee not sossej…udder dan dat…she b funnee.

    • JMIX

I didn’t think anything this girl said was bad. Drink a gallon of water a day. You would be surprised how much weight you can lose by just doing that.

    • yumeitsumo

To be honest, she is right. I used to be bigger. And everyone has excuses. There is no reason to be SO OBESE. And genetics do play only a percentage and YOU CAN get help for that. I like her points and I agree, people : I dont care, what your life is. You can find time to protect your body, mind, and confidence by working out. And also: you can eat what you want, if you can do the workout that goes along with it. I eat burgers at least ONCE a week, i sometimes eat more than i should, but i back that up with kicking my own butt at the gym, in my house, however i can get moving. I Feel better, i look better. I am better. Do better people.

    • DISPENSER

As a disgustingly fat person, everything she said is true. I would also say that it seems as simple as calories in vs. calories burned. Unfortunately there are emotional factors that come in to play as human beings, and not machines. I won’t rant about why fat people eat too much, and why it is so hard to change the habits of a lifetime. I will say, that nobody hates fat people, like fat people.

      • real_journo

Idiot! not all fat people are fat due to calories in/out that a blanket simplistic lie, there are other factors usually medical, hereditary as well as dietary problems. Perhaps should look at the contents within our food being manufactured rather than air headed bimbos that have no helpful input whatsoever.

        • Mayhem

The medical condition where breathing makes one fat perhaps and you seem to blame the food producers while ignoring the fact that the ultimate responsibility lies with the consumer for what they eat?

More to the point, real_journo, i don’t think you should be calling anyone “air-headed” given your writing isn’t really up to scratch. Your analytical skill isn’t much better or you would have noticed that the medically obese (whatevs) weren’t the target rather it was the 35% of Americans who have no excuse for being tubbo-lard-arses.

Philosophically it is a stand against political correctness and, Nicole Arbour, knocked it out of the park. Deal with it dear fat people.

    • Pink Slime

No, it is NOT controversial at all. What it is about a white chick and white people. They are told they cannot criticize. Only Negroes and other “darkies” can.

For you see if the lady, was a negress and said this; NOBODY would care!

    • jamieobomber

Something about a chick that uses the F word a lot – uhh

    • James Phoenix

Nicole is witty, funny and right on the button.

Best thing about fat f***ers is that after the apocalypse they can be used as candles or fuel and will burn for ages, although the smell will not be pleasant.

      • TuffENuff

This woman is very mean-spirited. She may try to cover that mean with make up and fake whatever, but she cannot hide her ugly. The fact people find her witty and funny is pretty sad, but I imagine these are the same people who think using people as candles is also funny.

        • ThirdEyeOpen

So TuffENuff, by calling her “mean-spirited” – you are accusing her by definition of being malicious (with intent to do harm) and petty spirited. Aren’t you now guilty of that very same thing – petty (because you don’t like the manner in which she voiced her opinion) and with the intent to harm her reputation with such a label (which of course is your opinion)??? That makes you a hypocrite!

In actuality, her video got a great deal of attention which brought to light a MAJOR problem in our society. That’s not petty or malicious as it wasn’t to “cause harm” but rather to point out the elephant in the room! Sure, it may hurt some feeling but the actual harm being caused is obesity NOT the acknowledgment of it!

People have used comedy for hundreds if not thousands of years – and I would even wager you like a good laugh or two (as long as it doesn’t touch on any of your sore spots). I’d consider changing your screen name to NeedsToTuffenUp.

How do you expect ANYONE to survive in this world if people can’t even handle the things that are said? Wake up, you live in a world where people are constantly at war and killing one another and you’re worried about what some lady said about fat people (is that because she’s thin and pretty or because you’re just that shallow)???

Truth is a bitter pill – but it doesn’t mean it’s not good medicine. At least then you know what you’re dealing with!

        • James Phoenix

Don’t worry, Tuff-guy, I won’t kill one unless they really piss me off, but there would soon be plenty of dead ones around that might otherwise go to waste. If I don’t use ‘em then dogs, crows, rats, cannibals or zombies would, and ultimately the germs would devour them in their own way.

I don’t actually WANT to use people as candles, but when needs must…

In case you are still concerned, I have lots of non-human candles to burn too.

Bit short on burnable fuel though…

          • James Phoenix

            Tough-guy,

Apologies for missing out flies, cockroaches and other assorted critters from my list of uses of the dead.

Been mulling over your reactionary comment.

And what would you do with the selfishly-lived obese bloated corpses? They would quickly stench-out the neighbourhood to an unbearable extent. They would quickly spread disease and encourage all kinds of vermin. You wouldn’t be able to stay in the area as the air would be unbreathable and dangerous. Would you be prepared to try to single-handedly bury a 200 or 300+ pound sack of lard armed with nothing more than a spade/pick (assuming that you have the land to bury a dead body??). You would need to dig a big hole. And you would likely need to dig more than one.

Use ‘em as candles, although I prefer the shop-bought ones.

One purpose of comedy is to make the unpalatable easier to deal with.

Best of luck with getting that.

The info found at the following link is most helpful with regards to this subject, and really all other areas of life. Its the best advice you will likely ever find and it works if yo do it.
