September 11, 2001: We will never forget

Islamic jihadists continue to engage in unspeakable violence, chant “Death to America”  and promise the annihilation of Israel, while Obama and his congressional colluders engage in deal making with Iran to facilitate the rogue state’s nuclear capabilities 

Fourteen years ago today, 2,973 people were murdered by terrorists who commandeered two commercial airliners and flew them into the World Trade Center Twin Towers in New York City and a third into the Pentagon. The death toll includes 40 passengers and crew members aboard the fourth hijacked plane, United 93, which crashed in a field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania, as courageous passengers rushed the cockpit.

Along with our American citizens, people from 90 other countries were killed in the attacks. The stunning horror of the day will remain with us throughout our lives.

We also remember the orchestrated attack on the U.S. Embassy in Benghazi on Sept. 11, 2012 — resulting in the deaths of Ambassador Christopher Stevens, Ty Woods, Sean Smith and Glen Doherty.

The 2014 depraved decapitations of American journalists James Foley and Steven Sotloff  shake our sensibilities —- as was the intent via the grotesque videos posted by the jihadist executioners. These victims follow Daniel Pearl, a Wall Street Journal reporter savagely executed in the same manner in 2002. Other Americans have followed that grisly path. 

During 2015 the civilized world has witnessed mass beheadings and the burning alive of a caged Jordanian pilot. Some of the beheadings were carried out by children under the guidance of their own fathers, indoctrinating depravity in the name of Allah.

The perpetrators of these unspeakably evil acts are fanatical and murderous international thugs who literally follow the Quran’s 47:4 directive to “strike the necks” of unbelievers. Obviously, ISIS represents the worst of Islam, but few American Muslims raise their voices against either the butchery or the threats of causing devastation to our homeland and inflicting havoc on American cities.

There is unprovoked violence closer to home. Reports center on concerns surrounding sniper style “domestic terrorism” in Phoenix with random shootings in a series of at least 11 freeway incidents in the past two weeks. “Anytime you have multiple shootings against American citizens on a highway, that’s terrorism,” Department of Public Safety Director Frank Milstead said. “It’s just a matter of time before there is a tragedy.”

Yet Americans are now forced to watch the Obama administration’s capitulation to the terror sponsoring regime of Iran by accelerating their nuclear capabilities. At the same time we are fed distorted intelligence reports giving a glossier version of U.S. progress against the Islamic State and  al Qaeda than is reflected by reality.

It’s time for an actual leader, a bold person of unquestioned integrity, in the White House.
