Beaten and Arrested for Riding a Hoverboard: What Marty McFly Would Have Really Seen on Oct 21, 2015

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

Editor’s Note: This story is from yesterday, Back to the Future day, the day envisioned as “the future” in the 80s film Back to the Future II. Below is how America really looks by comparison to the film.

How sad is it that, not only do we not have flying cars, but there is more than one example of people who do manage to get their hands on a hoverboard getting beat down and violently arrested for riding them in “unauthorized” areas in the modern American police state.

The date that people have been counting down to for the last 26 years is here. Today is the day Michael J Fox’s Marty McFly and Christopher Lloyd’s Doc Brown travelled to in Back to the Future 2 in 1989.

But when McFly landed in that 2015 on that fateful fictional day, do you think he could have imagined the state of the world today?

In one particular scene during the movie, police officers found Marty’s unconscious mother laid out in an alley. They then picked her up, drove her home and the incident was over. But would police today act in a similar manner?

A brief scroll through the Free Thought Project archives will answer that question for you.

So, what would Marty McFly have seen had he actually traveled to this random October day in 2015?

When the DeLorean would have landed, McFly would have immediately seen that future Americans are under constant surveillance, our every move under a microscope by government goons, “protecting us” from “terrorists.”

In the future, McFly would have seen that Americans are under the constant threat of violence from the state for possessing a plant, or having a tail light out, or simply walking down the street.

Future Americans are constantly paranoid of those blue and red lights popping up in the rearview mirror that most always end in extortion and could very well end with a visit to the hospital, being locked in a cage, or worse.

State sanctioned deprivation of rights, liberty, and life, is what we call “Freedom” in the future.

Instead of the beautifully utopian future envisioned by the writers Robert Zemeckis and Bob Gale, McFly would have landed in a police state with perpetual war, a country with the largest prison population on the planet, and a society who embraces it all.

2015 would be the peak of the war on drugs in which tens of thousands of non-violent drug offenders are locked in cages around the country.

The job of law enforcement in future America is enforcing every arbitrary edict in the land to maximize profits for just a few private prison companies who are paid with stolen money (taxes). Because order followers don’t question any of their orders, it has lead to 65 million Americans (about 22% of the population) having criminal records.

If Back to the Future 2 was historically accurate, Marty McFly could have been detained and or beaten, arrested, or killed by police for failing to provide proper identification.

Had police caught McFly hoverboarding in an “unauthorized” area, he would have been beaten down and arrested like Jesse Valdez. Or perhaps McFly’s hoverboard beat down by police would have been more like world-famous rapper Wiz Khalifia, who was violently taken down by cops in LAX for the “crime” of riding his hoverboard.
