Melvin Dean – a man whose life was changed drastically after responding to a call for help at ground zero in New York City during the 911 tragedy.
About Melvin Dean: Melvin Dean – was born 7/8/1957 and grew up in a small town Bethel Ohio where he has lived all his life. Mel led an active life in volunteerism – Journalism – Politics and was a small business owner in his hometown. His life changed drastically after he responded to a call for help at ground zero in New York City on 911.
Through the world trade center health program and NIOSH Melvin has been certified as having head and neck cancer from 9/11 dust as well as ptsd and muscle-skeletal disease, and is currently awaiting three more certifications as he continues to go thru what he calls the process.
The Government – in particular Senator Rob Portman – whom Mel campaigned for – has all but failed him financially and are now threatening to stop what little funding he has left.
Rob Portman does not answer the many messages Mel has left pleading for help.
The Government has offered Mr. Dean a 250,000.00 $ settlement which he finds insulting as it would not begin to cover the medical expenses incurred for treatment of his cancer.
