MAC Tour: Kansas City CopBlock Event Friday
Ademo and I slid into Kansas City Sunday night after a great time in DeKalb, Illinois with Ryan Scott, who’s a CopBlock Network contributor. We CopBlocked some cops from searching a the car full of women (video below) based on drug activity in the area from the week before. The stop concluded when Ademo pointed to his “Am I Free to Go” shirt and said, “Say that.” Everyone should know this phrase as this is as close to a get out of jail free card, as you’ll ever get in real life.
The next day we hit up Northern Illinois University (NIU) and interviewed students about what they thought the police were paid to do, as well as, conducted a 1st Amendment audit of the police station (videos also below). The officers who responded to our chalking/presence engaged us in conversation about alternatives to government law enforcement.
Jim treated us to some of the best BBQ around the KC area.
We are hoping this run of success continues while we’re here in Kansas City (KS). Dan and Janel Florez , founders of KCK CopBlock and CopBlock Network contributors, have provided us with a place to park MAC, as well as providing power and internet, so that we’re able to live out of MAC while here.
On Friday night we’ve planned a night of CopBlocking (aka; filming the police) and hope you – and your friends – will join us.
