Chinese Hostage Captures Terrorists at Mali Radisson Hotel Where 170 Were Held at Gunpoint

A hostage situation has just been resolved in Mali, where Arabic-speaking gunmen took some 170 people hostage inside an American-owned hotel.

According to fresh reports, Mali Special Forces resolved the standoff and freed the hostages, though at least 3 people were killed. According to the BBC:

Malian special forces have entered the Radisson Blu Hotel in the capital, Bamako, to try to free hostages taken after it was stormed by gunmen.

The hotel says 138 people remain inside. The gunmen stormed it shooting and shouting “God is great!” in Arabic, eyewitnesses say.

Malian officials said 30 hostages have been freed. State TV earlier put the figure at 80.

Three people have been shot dead and two soldiers wounded, officials say.

A reporter told CNN that the gunmen, who wielded AK-47s, arrived in black cars with diplomatic plates.

This incident in the West African nation is the latest act of terrorism to spark fear and grab headlines.

A brief video was released during the crisis by a Chinese hostage who caught part of the incident on a cell phone camera while trapped inside:

RT noted:

A video allegedly shot by a Chinese hostage in the Radisson hotel in Bamako, Mali, was posted by Xinhua news agency. It was allegedly filmed from a hotel room the person was reportedly locked inside, and shows the surroundings of the hotel.

It seems that terrorism is back in season, and more incidents are likely to take place across the world.

Will America really be next?
