Just when we think we have CERN all figured out, something else comes along! Today they are announcing plans to upgrade the LHC to High-Luminosity by 2025, which will see the amount of Higgs Bosons produced go up tenfold. In addition to this, the upgrade will act as a proof-of-concept for a supercollider that will make CERN look like an unfortunate dwarf relative. If thats not enough, now they are even having WITCH hunts at the LHC! I wonder if its more Schrodingers cat than the usual sinister black feline commonly associated with the witches lol

CERN reports….

This week more than 230 scientists and engineers from around the world met at CERN to discuss the High-Luminosity LHC – a major upgrade to the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) that will increase its discovery potential from 2025.

After a four-year design study the project is now moving into its second phase, which will see the development of industrial prototypes for various parts of the accelerator.

Luminosity is a crucial indicator of accelerator performance. It is proportional to the number of particles colliding within a defined amount of time. Since discoveries in particle physics rely on statistics, the greater the number of collisions, the more chances physicists have to see a particle or process that they have not seen before.

The High-Luminosity LHC will increase the luminosity by a factor of 10, delivering 10 times more collisions than the LHC  would do over the same period of time. It will therefore provide more accurate measurements of fundamental particles and enable physicists to observe rare processes that occur below the current sensitivity level of the LHC.

The increase in luminosity will mean that physicists can study new phenomena discovered by the LHC, such as the Higgs boson, in more detail. The High-Luminosity LHC will produce 15 million Higgs bosons per year compared to the 1.2 million in total created at the LHC between 2011 and 2012.

Ten times more collisions, releasing energies already never seen before here on earth. Are these people completely off their minds? Or is it that they have had this technology hidden from public scutiny in the expansive DUMB’s (Deep Underground Military Bases), and know exactly what they are doing and trying to achieve?

Recently we had Anthony Patch back on Freaky Friday to share startling new information he has uncovered about the potential energies that will be released this month and into December as they swap the protons for heavier ions of lead! Now we are learning that over the course of the next 10 years the amount of collisions will go up by 10? WTF are they trying to achieve? Surely there are only so many ways to crash these damn particles together?

Moreover, the technology that is to be used for the High-Luminosity LHC is to be tested in advance of it being deployed by the Chinese at the site of their planned supercollider, a particle collider that will, to put it simply, make CERN look like a childs toy!

Smashing together subatomic particles at tremendous speeds is a pretty good way of increasing our fundamental understanding of the Universe.

That’s why people get excited about the results coming out of the Large Hadron Collider at CERN, which recently reopened after being granted a significant power boost.

But China is now planning the next generation of particle accelerator – which will be twice the size and seven times more powerful than the one at CERN.

Construction should begin in 2020, according to Chinese state-run media, with the final designs on schedule to be completed by the end of 2016.

It looks like the particle accelerators are going to be a massive part of our future folks, so this is going to be something we are going to have to get our heads around, and fast! You need only look at the high frequency of TV shows that even have these machines central to their plots to know that we are being programmed to accept them for a reason, the truth to which we still yet do not fully know.

In other CERN related news, we had the halloween WITCH hunt taking place. Yes, thats right, a WITCH hunt. They really do themselves no favours when it comes to the naming of projects and their choice of iconography & symbolism. Its little wonder that the alternative media and research community are all drawn to the place, almost as if its the worlds biggest magnet – oh wait, thats right, it is lol

So, WITCH hunt? WTF? Well, CERN reports….

This Halloween, meet CERN’s very own WITCH – an experiment at ISOLDE, the laboratory’s nuclear facility.

The 31 October conjures up images of pumpkins, ghouls and the iconic witch –complete with pointy hat and black cat. CERN’s WITCH (the Weak Interaction Trap for Charged Particles) experiment may not have the cat, but it does have its own particle-track broomstick.

WITCH investigates weak interaction, the fundamental interaction responsible for radioactive decay. By slowing down and trapping a beam of ions from ISOLDE, WITCH can measure the recoil energy of an ion as it emits a positron and an electron neutrino during beta decay.

Before I let all you fine people get back to what you were doing, there is a story going mega viral right now about a physicist that worked within the labs of CERN blowing the whistles to something they have done and cant put right. I will include the start of the story below, but its important to note that at the time of me writing this, I personally still cannot find where this originally came from nor can I find any supporting information that would either confirm or deny the information contained within. This is not to say the info is not true, it could very well be, but I ask you to go and research this yourself and find out if there is any veracity to the claims made.

I’m a Physicist At CERN.. We’ve Done Something We Shouldn’t Have Done

My name is Dr. Edward Mantill and I was (technically still am) a physicist at CERN, located in Geneva, Switzerland. I specialize in particle and subatomic research, focusing on quark interactions. In other words, I study very very small particles and how they interact with one another at very high speeds. Until Thursday, Jan. 15, 2014 I was a normal scientist living and working on the CERN campus. Most of the scientists who are involved in the branch of research that I am live on campus at the facility in Geneva and venture out only for social activities and the occasional visit home.

Most of you who have heard of CERN will have heard of the LHC (Large Hadron Collider) the largest scientific instrument which exceeds 20 miles in diameter and travels under the sovereign territory of two countries (Switzerland, France). The public has been told that it was constructed at a cost of tens of billions of Euros for the purpose of studying the birth of the universe and the collisions that take place within the collider allow us a quick glimpse at certain phenomenon that can only be witnessed when particles hit one another at incredibly high rates. This is NOT what the machine was designed for, nor is it what the machine has been used for since it’s inception. CERN’s main purpose for building the Collider was too, well it was to open a door way. Allow me to explain: the doorway idea came into fruition in the 1960s.
