Six Pakistani born British men have been arrested in Belguim after they showed up drivng ambulances at a service station known to have been used by Europe’s most wanted man Salah Abdeslam.

These are the latest in a long list of arrests post-Paris attacks and not the first time we have heard of an ambulance being used as part of a plot.

The Express reports…

A heavily-armed anti-terror unit swooped on the group near a petrol station which is regularly used by Salah Abdeslam – the fugitive terrorist still at large eight days after 130 people were killed in the French capital.

Six armoured trucks and a police car rushed in after the old ambulances were parked in a rest area beside the E411 highway in Bierges, south-east of Brussels, at around 2pm local time on Saturday.

The Pakistani-born British men were questioned by security forces as officers continued to search the ambulances – two Fiats and a Mercedes with British number plates.

This is not the first time we have seen ambulances showing up in this recent terror wave sweeping Europe.

On the 17th of November, a soccer match between Germany and Holland was cancelled at the last moment due to security services having intelligence that suggested a “series threat” was planned for the event. In the immediate reports that followed, but soon went quite, there were reports of a “fake ambulance” turning up at the stadium packed with explosives. It seems obvious that the authories are aware of plots to use emergency vehicles as weapons.

Now, it might seem ridiculous at first, but just think about it for a moment. The carnage that a bomb on emergency vehicles would bring would be unthinkable.

This is a recognised terrorist tactic – create a bomb scare in one area, or even detonate a bomb in one location, then as people flee to apparent safety, another bomb detonates. The use of an emergency vehicle is to get through security cordons in the immediate panic, to get the vehicle in position.

Purchasing old emergency vehicles is actually a lot easier than you would imagine, so this is not an unbelievable plot, if one exists, as this is all my opinion and speculaion.

With Europe on high-alert and hacktivist group Anonymous warning of ISIS attacks planned for today, 22nd of November, we must be ready for any eventuality.

Thought and prayers to all those victims in the Paris attacks, and all the victims around the world for that matter!
