There is a map in the Library of Congress and the Boston Public Library that shows the Earth shaped like a circular disc with the North Pole in the middle. What you just described is exactly what one would expect to see if they were standing on a flat, circular Earth.

Ok so I have had very large diameter telescopes that have provided me with really good detail of Jupiter, I would see the swirls of the atmosphere as well as the eye of Jupiter. I could see distant galaxies too as well as very good detail in the Whirlpool galaxy. Whatever this fellow believes he is preaching well let him believe it. But he made no distinct point here.
