Real World Collapse – You May Not Have Two Years

For those that have been following the unfolding nightmare that is the total collapse of Venezuela you have been witness to a full blown economic collapse. We could go into all the reasons it is happening or we can review what has happened in real time. As you may be aware this began almost two years ago and we are just getting to the point of a complete and absolute totalitarian state. With all the propaganda, rationing and police state tactics that go along with a totalitarian state. Some of you are probably thinking, ‘what does this have to do with me?’ Everything. If you compare what is happening in Venezuela to what is happening right here in the U.S. you can see eerie similarities.

Two years ago the people of Venezuela were made aware their government was in trouble and the “bills” had become due. The only problem was, the government did not have the money to pay the bills. This put the government in situation that, to this day, can not be very easily resolved.

Just this week the government announced it would make two new attempts at maintaining order and attempting to reign in the situation. One of the announcements would be to sell more of their gold and the other is to cut government employees work week to two days!!

Regarding the work stoppage, I mean shortened work week:

Just three weeks ago, the Venezuela socialist paradise gifted local workers with one extra day of rest each week when, as a result of the crippling economic crisis and collapsing power grid, president Maduro designated every Friday in the months of April and May as a non-working holiday in his desperate bid to save electricity as a prolonged drought pushes water levels to a critical threshold at hydro-generation plants. Never without a scapegoat, Maduro immediately blamed El-Nino for implementing the three-day weekend.

“This plan for 60 days, for two months, will allow the country to get through the most difficult period with the most risk,” Maduro said on state television in early April. “I call on families, on the youth, to join this plan with discipline, with conscience and extreme collaboration to confront this extreme situation” of the drought blamed on the El Nino weather system.

And regarding Venezuela’s gold holding:

According to the financials of Venezuela’s Central Bank, at the end of 2015, Venezuela had $10.04 billion in gold. That $10 billion means that Venezuela burned $4.5 billion of gold last year. With the $2.24 billion that Venezuela has shipped to Switzerland in the last three months, Venezuela is now down to just $7.8 billion in gold.

Could you provide for yourself and your family on two day a week wages? Who could? No one. If you believe that Venezuela’s troubles are “weather related” then you probably believe Obama when he said “Anyone claiming that America’s economy is in decline is peddling fiction.”  Well, anyone smart enough to use google can dispel that piece of propaganda in about 0.00003 seconds. You would be able to do the same with the situation in Venezuela.

What are the effects of economic collapse? What are the effects of rationed electricity? How does rationed food supplies impact people, communities and the entire country? How does one deal with such a nightmare?
