SLEEPING RIGHT
A common problem we all face is getting a proper sleep at night, and we go over just how important it is to get that correct rest.

Hello, my name is Darcy Clarke and I am a 33 year old Health & Fitness Specialist. My passion for health and fitness started at a very young age due to what seemed like an insurmountable amount of obstacles I needed to overcome just to live a normal life.
When I was only 13 years old, I was diagnosed with juvenile arthritis and gastrointestinal issues, went through two knee surgeries at the age of 16 and by my early twenties had three operations done on each knee. Around this time (15) I found a place to work out in the basement of my home and in the high school gym. I began reading health and fitness magazines by the crate and went to all the public libraries in search of books on health, nutrition and exercise psychology, which led into disease treatment, prevention and a vast understanding of the human body.
During the ages of sixteen and seventeen, after being sick and tired of being sick and tired, I put this knowledge to use and did what some would call a “Rocky Montage”, literally training two times per day, eating 5-6 properly portioned and balanced meals throughout the day, supplemented with protein powder and creatine and in a little over three months, transformed my body from a 265lb fat kid with a 42 inch waist, to a ripped 195lb hulk with a 32 inch waist. From this I gained the acceptance and applause from my peers, but was still the emotional fat kid inside.
Knowing others were going through the same difficulties as myself, I decided this was worth dedicating my life to. I took my first personal trainer course when I was 20 years old, followed by a nutrition certification. Shortly after, I went on to receive multiple certifications in personal training, strength and conditioning, nutrition, sports performance nutrition, supplementation, and a host of others that would more than fill this page line by line. All of this had lead me into the fields of Disease and Illness treatment and prevention, Athletic Performance, Nutrition, Personal Training, Strength & Conditioning, Nutritional Biochemistry, Nutrition & Lifestyle Coaching, Physical Rehabilitation, and more.
I have competed in three bodybuilding competitions at the Novice and Provincial level. These experiences helped me learn a lot about myself, and also about the limitations of the mind. The more I learned from World experts such as Charles Poliquin, Paul Chek, Dr. John Berardi, Dr. James LaValle, Dr Rob Rakowski, and working along side my educator in Acupuncture and Natural Medicine over the past 2 years, I learned that the psychological, emotional, and energetic aspects of our health were just as, or even more important than the physical. After more than 13 years of experience standing on the shoulders of the giants in my field, working with all types of clients, I have also learned that the mind was also the most limiting factor in becoming the healthiest and strongest versions of themselves.
I had to overcome many obstacles and learning experiences in the process to become the person I am today. Through my years of education and experience, I have made almost every mistake and learned the accompanying lessons needed to help people like you or someone you know with almost any issue,that is preventing you from becoming the greatest version of yourself.
