Tactical Walls adds RFID to rifle concealment shelves

Concealment furniture maker TacticalWalls brings Radio Frequency Identification technology to two models of rifle length storage shelves.
The 842 and 1242 models accept either one long gun or multiple smaller handguns while supporting 25 pounds inside and on top. Both units come with a built-in RFID sensor that, when paired with one of the two programmed key cards, unlocks a secured storage compartment underneath.
RFID has become a popular option for gun owners looking to mesh safety with accessibility in the home.
The company added the technology to some of its smaller products back in April; but Chris Wood, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing, said customers have anxiously awaited RFID application on long-gun storage.
“Our customers have been asking us to add RFID technology to our rifle length shelves for quite some time now and we’re pleased to now be able to offer them this feature,” Wood said in a statement. “Our team put a lot of effort into this design to ensure that the craftsmanship is on par with the high standards that TacticalWalls is known for and we’re excited to bring these high-quality storage units to the market.”
Retailing for $395, the rifle shelves are available in six wood finishes and two trims for a variety of decorating options.
