Get Rid of Kidney Infection With These Natural Home Remedies

According to NHS Choices, kidney infection happens when bacteria infects your kidneys. The bacteria are usually a type called E. coli, which live in your bowel.

Children and women are at a greater risk of developing kidney infection. There are some symptoms that indicate you have the infection and they are: nausea, diarrhea, back pain, uncontrollable shivering and high temperature of 38 ºC (100.4ºF) or above.

If not treated in time, kidney infection can lead to serious complications and permanently damage your kidneys.

PARSLEY FOR KIDNEY INFECTION

Medical herbalists use parsley which is a proven diuretic to treat kidney and bladder problems. Parsley can assist in flushing toxins out of your system due to its diuretic effects. It is also ant-viral which helps cure infection too.
Method 1: Chop the parsley finely. Add 1 tablespoon of crushed fresh parsley or dried parsley to a cup of boiling water. Steep for 5 minutes. Let it cool and then strain it. Drink this remedy twice a day for a couple of weeks to combat a kidney infection.

Method 2: You can also mix ¼ cup of parsley juice, ½ cup of water and a little honey and lemon juice. Drink it 2 times daily for 1 to 2 weeks.

Note: Make sure to consult your doctor before using it because it may interfere with certain medications.

UVA URSI

Uva ursi is particularly beneficial for infections caused by E. coli, a bacterium found in the intestines causing bladder and kidney infections.

Add 1 tbsp. of uva ursi leaves in two cups of water. Simmer the mixture for about 30-40 minutes till when it is reduced to one cup. Drink half cup of this tea twice a day.

Note: Before using this herb, you need to consult a herbalist because it is indicated only for chronic conditions and it’s not ment to be used for longer periods. Moreover, pregnant women should also avoid taking uva ursi herb.

SAGE AND PEPPERMINT TEA

Sage can help you to clear harmful toxins and other impurities from the kidney as it contains some oils that have therapeutic properties like anti-septic, astringent and other relaxing effects.

All you have to do is to pour 2 cups hot water over 1 tablespoon of sage and 1 tablespoon of peppermint leaves.

Allow the mixture to cool for several minutes and than strain it.

You should drink 2-3 cups of sage-peppermint tea on a daily basis for at least 3 months to treat your kidney infection even if the pain subsides in the first few days .

Don’t forget to drink plenty of fluids.
