Suspect shot dead by clerk during attempted robbery of cell phone store (VIDEO)
An attempted robbery at a Boost Mobile phone store in Franklin Township, Ohio, was foiled when an armed clerk opened fire on the suspect.
According to reports, the suspect was armed with a weapon and wearing a mask when he attempted to rob the store around 7:30 p.m. The clerk, however, had a gun tucked away behind the counter and shot the suspect, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Neighborhood residents say the area is normally rather quiet and they were surprised to hear about the robbery and subsequent shooting.
Authorities say the investigation is ongoing, but confirmed the store clerk is licensed to carry a concealed handgun.
