WA homeowner takes down intruder armed with crochet hook (VIDEO)
A man, who was apparently intent on doing harm with a crochet hook, was seriously injured when he was shot while breaking into a Mountlake Terrace, Washington, home last week.
Police say the suspect came to the home along with a woman, who is a distant relative of the homeowner. The homeowner asked the two to leave, but they returned some time later with what authorities say were a plan to steal property from the man.
The woman went to the front door and while she had the homeowner distracted, the male suspect went to the back of the home to force his way inside. The homeowner said soon thereafter he found the suspect about three-fourths of the way through a back window. The suspect had a crochet hook, but authorities said his intent wasn’t to do crafts, but rather to harm the homeowner.
The homeowner, however, was armed with a gun and shot the suspect. The suspect made his way back outside, but his female accomplice took off, leaving him behind.
When police arrived on the scene, they found the suspect unresponsive, but were able to successfully revive him.
The suspect was rushed to the hospital in critical condition, but his current condition is not known. The female suspect was later located in North Seattle driving a car which was previously reported stolen.
